I have even noticed a new love for books come to life in our classroom. This donation gave us some new and exciting Tonies such as Poppy from Trolls, National Geographic: All about Dinosaurs, Jungle Book, Buzz Lightyear, Gruffalo and Healthy Habits. The National Geographic: All about Dinosaurs has grown to be a favorite for the boys in the class. It gives lots of facts about dinosaurs along with some sounds of dinosaurs that they all enjoy and get excited for. A favorite for the girls is the Trolls Poppy Tonie. This Tonie is very musical and upbeat and we often will see the girls that are listening to it up and dancing to the music! I feel that because of our much our Tonie box collection has grown because of your generosity we know have a Tonie that is special to each and every student in our class! The children are all very familiar with these books as they are always out on our book shelf so they love hearing the stories now through the Tonie Box. A really cute one that has grown to be a class favorite is the Snoop Dogg Tonie. This Tonie has many familiar songs that the children already know but with a little twist of \"clean rap\" music. He has one song on their that is all about being yourself, positive comments, believing in yourself, controlling your own happiness, respecting yourself. He repeats them so the kids repeat them so they are saying this all to themselves! The new materials have already become a favorite part of our daily activities.\r\n\r\nThe flower and monster builders have been a wonderful outlet for the children's creativity; it is a joy to watch them experiment with different designs and configurations. Additionally, the magnetic letter builders are proving to be an invaluable resource. We are currently focusing on letter formation, and these tools help the students visualize the \"long lines, short lines, and curves\" that make up each character.\r\n\r\nThe kinetic sand is, predictably, a massive hit! It provides an excellent sensory experience, and we are even using it as an opportunity to practice turn-taking and patience. One of our favorite classrooms Tonies to listen to at meal time is 'Going on a Bear Hunt' because we have listened to this Tonie so often the children are pretty much able to \"read\" the book themselves by reading the pictures and reciting the Tonie! Another classroom favorite is the Wild Kratts Tonie. We have one little guy who absolutely LOVES this one! He has such a love for animals and this goes right along with his interest! He has even talked so much at home about this particular Tonie the parents have asked me \"What exactly is Wild Kratts?\" Now this particular child is able to watch and play PBS games with Wild Kratts! I choose stickers as a back up item as another item was out of stock. Stickers are always a classroom favorite!
