With the materials we received, alongside repurposed items, our students didn't just create suffolk puff dolls—they also explored innovative designs such as tote bags, wearable outfits, a crocheted laundry basket made from t-shirt yarn, and even kinusaiga art (quilted fabric on foam).\r\n\r\nWhat made this experience especially powerful was seeing our ESL students grow in confidence. They proudly presented their projects at the Service in Schools Showcase in Manhattan, representing CCMSA with pride and enthusiasm. Wearing our custom-designed t-shirts that read \"There's No Planet B,\" they felt seen, valued, and part of something important.\r\n\r\nThe impact went far beyond creativity. Several participants were recognized as Students of the Month in their homerooms, honored for the new motivation and commitment they demonstrated in their academic goals. This project truly lit a spark in their lives, inspiring them to see themselves as problem-solvers, creators, and leaders.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, CCMSA brought joy, pride, and purpose to 14 students while building skills that will carry them far into the future. You've made a lasting difference.","fullyFundedDate":1746484750507,"projectUrl":"project/stitch-sustain-turning-discarded-fabr/9214919/","projectTitle":"Stitch & Sustain: Turning Discarded Fabrics into Cuddly Comfort","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Buckle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9843491"},{"teacherId":2076340,"projectId":9173448,"letterContent":"When the pins, stickers, and pencils arrived, our students were so excited! We shared how these materials would be used to celebrate diversity and important events like World Autism Day, Mental Health Awareness Week, and Pride. Their favorite part was learning about the new pin-collecting initiative—each student received a lanyard and can now earn pins for achievements like academic growth, attendance, and acts of kindness.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, we are turning Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) into something tangible and meaningful. Students are already setting personal goals to earn their first pins, and we're planning classroom lessons, family workshops, and schoolwide events that will build a stronger sense of community.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible!","fullyFundedDate":1742954737988,"projectUrl":"project/a-dash-of-sel-swag-to-boost-our-schools/9173448/","projectTitle":"A Dash of SEL Swag to Boost Our School's Vibes!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tabares","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2076340_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1457286517020","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-tabares"},{"teacherId":2076340,"projectId":8925523,"letterContent":"I sincerely appreciate your contributions.
