The Bee-Bots have completely transformed the way my students engage with coding and academic content. We've been using them to practice vocabulary, review reading comprehension, tackle math concepts, and build cooperative problem-solving skills.\r\n\r\nInstead of traditional flashcards, students now use task cards and then program their Bee-Bots based on the prompt. They code their bots to move toward the correct answers on the grid, creating a far more hands-on and interactive learning experience. They're thinking critically, testing ideas, revising their code, and communicating clearly with their partners.\r\n\r\nThe biggest excitement comes from being able to combine coding with academic learning. Students love the challenge of programming their Bee-Bots correctly, and they're so proud when their bot reaches the target. This has also helped some of my shy students flourish; the low-risk, collaborative setting gives them space to participate comfortably. Their overall engagement has noticeably increased, and I've seen an increase in the amount of Spanish academic language they use as they talk through their coding steps with one another while also discussing the topics on their task cards.\r\n\r\nThis project has strengthened our STEM work while also enhancing language development, confidence, and engagement across the board. As I shared in my original request, what I love most about my students is how wonderfully unique each of them is—each with their own ways of learning, thinking, and expressing themselves. Thanks to your generosity, our new flexible-seating options truly honor those differences. The Scoop Rocker Chairs are perfect for students who need a quiet, cozy space to focus, while the Wobble Stools and Sensory Wobble Cushions help my more active learners stay engaged without feeling confined. The Surf Portable Lap Desks give students freedom to work on the floor comfortably, and the Mobile Teaching Cart helps me bring clear, organized lessons to any part of the room.\r\n\r\nThese resources have already transformed the way my students learn each day. They now have the choice to move, settle, stretch out, or sit upright—whatever helps them think best. I see increased confidence, independence, joy, and ownership of learning because the classroom finally adapts to them, instead of the other way around. Your generosity has made it possible to create an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and helping make our classroom a place where all learners can thrive. Due to your generosity, our classroom now has a mobile whiteboard easel and chart paper resources that have immediately elevated our instruction across subjects and languages.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful ways we've used the whiteboard is during our bridging lessons, where students make cross-linguistic connections between English and Spanish. Having a large, movable writing space allows me to model side-by-side comparisons, highlight cognates, and help students visually connect academic vocabulary across both languages. They stay engaged because the board can move right to their table groups, and they can literally see their bilingual thinking take shape.\r\n\r\nWe've also been using the materials to create Frayer Model vocabulary charts, which now hang in the room as ongoing references. Students love helping build these charts and frequently look back at them during independent work. \r\nIn math, the easel has been invaluable for modeling problem-solving strategies, anchor charts for chapter concepts, step-by-step examples, and visual representations that support all learners.\r\n\r\nThe flexibility of the mobile whiteboard has made a huge difference. Instead of students having to gather tightly around one spot, I can bring the instruction to them. Small groups feel more supported, and students who benefit from close visual access now have it whenever they need it.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in tools that have strengthened our bilingual instruction, supported vocabulary development, and boosted student confidence across subjects. Your generosity has truly impacted our daily learning.","fullyFundedDate":1758253614059,"projectUrl":"project/rolling-into-learning/9670755/","projectTitle":"Rolling Into Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rodriguez Castro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6519392"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_28495","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":434,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":47,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":63,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"22.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.6,"schoolId":28495,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mountain View Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mountain View Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/claremont-unified-school-district/mountain-view-elementary-school/28495"}
