They aren't just reading the pages — they're analyzing characters, trying to solve the mystery of what happened to the main character, and picking up new vocabulary along the way. Most importantly, they're finding connections between the characters' experiences and their own lives, which makes reading feel more meaningful and personal.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading looks like lively conversations, lots of questions, and plenty of \"aha!\" moments. Students share predictions, debate character choices, and sometimes even act out scenes to understand them better. It's wonderful to see them building both academic skills and empathy as they imagine what it's like to be in someone else's shoes.\r\n\r\nSome of my most reluctant readers have surprised me the most. They're leaning in during discussions, eager to figure out what comes next in the story, and even volunteering to read aloud when they never used to.
