The new supplies—especially the bright Astrobrights paper, printer ink, dry-erase boards, and markers—have become essential tools in helping my third graders take ownership of their learning.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments happened during our interactive notebook project on text features. As soon as the students saw the colorful paper and the freshly printed templates, their eyes lit up. Several students immediately said, \"Wow, this looks so nice!\" and \"Miss, we've never had paper like this before!\" The colors helped them stay engaged and eager to personalize their work. For many of them, having materials that feel \"special\" makes the learning feel special, too.\r\n\r\nWe now use these supplies daily—\r\n✨ to build interactive notebooks\r\n✨ to complete centers and small-group tasks\r\n✨ to support independent practice\r\n✨ and to bring visual, hands-on elements into every lesson\r\n\r\nThese tools have made a noticeable difference. Students who normally struggle to stay focused suddenly lean in, participate, and feel proud of their work. The ability to create something in their own handwriting and their own style has boosted their confidence and independence, which is one of our biggest academic goals this year.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw everything set up, they reacted with pure joy—smiling, clapping, and asking, \"Is this for us?!\" It was a heartwarming reminder of how deeply resources like these matter, especially in a high-poverty community where many children don't often have access to materials beyond the basics.\r\n\r\nWhat's Next for Our Classroom\r\n\r\nYour support has given us the momentum to take our learning even further. Our next steps include expanding our interactive notebooks with more hands-on projects across reading, math, and science. Students will continue using the colorful paper to produce graphic organizers, vocabulary foldables, math step-by-step guides, and reflection pages that help bridge their learning from guided instruction to true independence.\r\n\r\nYour donation didn't just provide classroom materials—\r\nit provided possibility, pride, and a sense of ownership for students who deserve every chance to shine.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in them, and for giving them tools that genuinely make a difference every single day. 💛📚","fullyFundedDate":1693313816673,"projectUrl":"project/interactive-notebook-extravaganza/7728936/","projectTitle":"Interactive Notebook Extravaganza","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Donis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9124603"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_40942","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":512,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":79,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":64.3,"schoolId":40942,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Morrow Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Morrow Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/broward-county-public-schools/morrow-elementary-school/40942"}
