Reading these books has challenged the students to identify words unfamiliar to them. They have used prior knowledge to infer and determine the main topic. Students have gained stamina with their reading as well.\r\n In my classroom, students are given opportunities to go book shopping and are encouraged to read these books entire book. Students read everyday during small group rotations. Students must read for the entire rotation of 15 minutes. They have a book box where they keep their chosen texts for a week and everyday their book box is at their desk. When they are finished their work they are encouraged to read. Students are learning how to take orders, prepare snacks and drinks, handle money, and work as a team. These tasks are helping them build social skills, practice communication, and work toward their IEP goals.\r\n\r\nA special moment:\r\nThe excitement on the students' faces when we brought out the aprons and officially started running the Snack Shack was unforgettable! They couldn't wait to get started, and the pride they felt in their new roles was incredible. Watching them step up and take ownership of the project was a moment we'll always cherish.\r\n\r\nWhat's next?\r\nWe're planning themed snack days and expanding our menu to include seasonal items. This will give students more chances to practice skills like decision-making and problem-solving.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create such an amazing learning experience.
