One of the biggest helps this year has been the magnetic fraction set! I have used it in whole-group instruction to visually show students how fraction sizes change based on the denominator, and in small groups where students can make their own assumptions and develop mathematical reasoning using the tiles.\r\n\r\nI am very excited to continue using these materials throughout this math cluster. Games like *Division War* and *Splat* have made small groups feel cheerful and full of life while still practicing key skills. Even when students have not quite mastered phonics or division yet, their desire to \"beat\" their peers outweighs any embarrassment. You can truly see them trying harder in order to improve and succeed. It has been incredibly rewarding to watch.\r\n\r\nI would also like to sincerely thank you for helping relieve a stress I didn't even realize I was carrying. Many of these essential supplies are incentives I use throughout the year. I had been struggling financially to provide them for my students while also feeling the guilt and pressure of wanting to give. I use reward boxes for good behavior, kindness, and effort, and with the erasers and stickers, hands now fly up! Even my quieter students are more willing to participate, and I love seeing their confidence grow.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for helping prepare my students' year with necessities.","fullyFundedDate":1759499912130,"projectUrl":"project/most-used-classroom-supplies-and-small-g/9395365/","projectTitle":"Most Used Classroom Supplies and Small Group Games!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ditmars","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9457907_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1769540168259","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9457907"},{"teacherId":9457907,"projectId":9279557,"letterContent":"Again, I want to thank you so much for gifting my class several sets of novels and our beautiful classroom rug! My students use the rug daily for reading and math groups, SSR time and for free time. It's really changed the entire dynamic of my classroom and I cannot express my deep appreciation enough. \r\nWe have begun diving into our new novels, and this has been a first for many of my students. The transition from early elementary year phonics to full novels has been huge for them but also challenging which makes education so important. I'm sparking curiosity, real world connections and honestly deeper discussion with these 8 year olds than I ever thought possible. Without your kindness, this opportunity would never have happened. I hope my words really express the magnitude of what you all have done for these children and for myself. I have forever grateful and I cannot wait to continue through all of the novel sets and watch these children be inspired and grow academically.","fullyFundedDate":1746786304610,"projectUrl":"project/novel-study-sets/9279557/","projectTitle":"Novel Study Sets","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ditmars","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9457907_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1769540168259","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9457907"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_102968","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":763,"numTeachers":51,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":14,"percentWhite":45,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":26,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":79.0,"schoolId":102968,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Morgan Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Morgan Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/winston-salem-forsyth-county-schools/morgan-elementary-school/102968"}
