This project provided us a carpet sweeper, dry mop and broom for the tile, dusters for instruments and surfaces, white board magnetic cleaning wipes to erase and additional cleaning clothes for instruments, materials and other surfaces. \r\nWith the entire school coming through my classroom every week, it can make a bit of a mess. Since my students sit on the floor, it's important to me to keep it clean. Thanks to the carpet sweeper, I can quickly pick up wood chips from the playground, bits of paper and other trash that accumulate through the day. And it is light enough for my students to move. \r\nThe dusters have helped wipe down our xylophones from dust and clean up under the windows when dirt blows in. My white boards have never been cleaner thanks to the microfiber wipes, and thanks to the magnet, they never get lost or misplaced. \r\nOur custodians work so hard, I am grateful for the tools to do cleanups in between and make sure our music room is ready every day for students. A clean and tidy classroom makes all the difference to our young musicians, thank you for providing these supplies.","fullyFundedDate":1758636692956,"projectUrl":"project/tidy-up/9479281/","projectTitle":"Tidy Up!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Macke","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4921182_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723660234156","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/angela-macke"},{"teacherId":4921182,"projectId":9478779,"letterContent":"My students are so excited for our new percussion instruments. Let me explain. This project was for puppets to use in music class, and my students just adore them. Puppets are extremely useful for encouraging students to sing. I use them to have my students echo, and they love to hold them and sing back. For my youngest students, I have planned an entire unit around each of the animals. These thematic lessons are exciting and fun for all of us. \r\nMy older students love the puppets also. They use them in creative play and storytelling. Even singing warmups are more fun with the puppets. \r\nMy students love to name them also. We have Pop Tart, Cheddar and Green Bean so far. Each week another puppet gets a name. It's fun. \r\nThank you for making this happen. Providing my elementary music classroom with a Roadie 3 automatic tuner is a total gamechanger. Thank you!\r\nTuning a class set of ukuleles used to take me forever. The strings would be out of tune the next day and I would have to do it all again. Now I can just click down the line and quickly get them ready to play in a fraction of the time. \r\nIt's a great tool. I select ukulele and it automatically knows what each string should tune to. I place it on the tuning peg, pluck the string and it adjusts the tension to be in tune. Since it works on vibration and not sound, I can even tune an instrument in a noisy classroom when a peg gets bumped or turned. \r\nIt's so easy to use, I can teach students to use and they can also assist in tuning the instruments. That's great for their ownership and leadership in the music classroom. \r\nThank you so much! My second and third graders will be using Jon Klassen's \"That's Not My Hat\" books to explore triple meter, adding song and sound effects to a story, student created music using drums and xylophones and retelling the story of \"Where's My Hat\". My K-1 students are enjoying books like \"I'm Going on a Bear Hunt\" to use music to tell a story and to move our bodies safely to add movement to a story.
