These situations are devastating to the adult mind and just as much to the young reader. Reading stories about another child's experience with incarcerated parents, helped the students realize they are not alone. Seeing things through the eyes of a child in the book, becomes relatable to the children. \r\nReading the books help the students relate to the characters and give them some vocabulary to express what they are experiencing. I cannot express my gratitude enough for your donations that have allowed me to reach a child. We read together, taking turns and discussing the characters and similarities to the student and their situations.
