Students utilize many of the tools in our calm down corner to help regulate big emotions that they may experience throughout their day at school. \r\n\r\nIn addition to the fidgets, the weighted stuffed animal has quickly become a member of the classroom. He was given the name \"Chorizo\" and is loved by every student. He helps students get their work done, calm down, and even practice skills (such as reading). \r\n\r\nMy students were so excited the day we unpacked all our new supplies and honestly the excitement still resonates months after. We are incredibly grateful for these tools and materials. It has changed the feeling of the classroom and has helped me in making the room feel calm and regulated.\r\n\r\nI appreciate your donation to my classroom and my studnents. They will meet with me multiple times throughout the week for discussion, so we can practice specific skills and comprehension strategies.\r\n\r\nOn a daily basis, we use the books to talk about different genres, characterization, theme, sequencing, plot elements, literary elements, and more!
