The students immediately noticed it and were so excited to see how it brightened up the space. They know how much I love it, and it has been so sweet to see how careful they are about keeping it clean and treating it with respect. The rug has made the room feel more welcoming and joyful, and it's quickly become something the students comment on when they walk in each day.\r\n\r\nWith our space feeling more inviting and comfortable, we've been able to focus even more on our current goals in reading, writing, math and social-emotional learning. Students are continuing to work on decoding skills, reading comprehension, and using strategies to stay regulated during challenging tasks. The rug has helped transform the resource room into a place they enjoy coming to—a space that feels safe, calming, and just a little bit magical. Your generosity didn't just provide a classroom item; it truly enhanced the environment where my students learn and grow each day.","fullyFundedDate":1755696667524,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-cozy-calming-space-for-young/9490713/","projectTitle":"Creating a Cozy, Calming Space for Young Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Emerson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3122321_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1456443673394","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3122321"},{"teacherId":7299818,"projectId":9622212,"letterContent":"This whole project means so much to my class. I was able to order much needed items for my entire class that have made a difference and positive impact on their learning. \r\n The rug is used all day long for each child to sit on an individual circle to have their own 'space', or collaborate together. Furthermore, it is so colorful and adds more charm to my classroom. I get many compliments about how nice it looks and how spacious it is. \r\n I ordered pre-cut tennis balls to go on the bottom of students' chairs to minimize noise and scratches on the floor when kids move their chairs. These are something that I have wanted for so long and they truly do make a difference. In addition, I also ordered calming strips to help reduce student stress/anxiety. These work really well and are a great alternative to noisy/messy fidgets. Lastly I was able to purchase small prizes to replenish my prize bin which kids work to earn. Kids love them all! \r\n In conclusion, this project has been a wonderful addition to help my students feel calmer and be more focused on their learning. We are all so appreciative of your kindness and generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1755739610328,"projectUrl":"project/lets-come-together/9622212/","projectTitle":"Let's Come Together","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. VanDerheyden","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7299818"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_43491","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":414,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":15,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":71,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":19,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.0,"schoolId":43491,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Monroe Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Monroe Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/connecticut/monroe-public-schools/monroe-elementary-school/43491"}
