I have been using the laptop whenever I get the chance. Not only am I using it at home, but I can be more mobile in the library because of the laptop. I can observe students and monitor them in real time because the laptop moves with me. I have also been able to participate in a webinar after school hours because I can take the laptop home with me. \r\nAs I begin to get more familiar with the laptop, I will definitely use it to keep exploring its capabilities. \r\nThe students were excited for me because they saw me working on my own laptop as they worked on their Chromebooks!\r\nAgain, thank you so much for your gracious donation.","fullyFundedDate":1756567645119,"projectUrl":"project/an-educators-work-is-never-done/9656421/","projectTitle":"An Educator's Work is Never Done!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lomawaima","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9819085_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748280322218","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9819085"},{"teacherId":9399973,"projectId":9123806,"letterContent":"Thanks to your incredible support, my 5th-grade students now have the hands-on tools they need to explore, create, and dream big! The excitement in our classroom was undeniable the moment they first saw the new materials—eyes lit up, hands reached eagerly for the LEGO sets and magnetic tiles, and their imaginations immediately took off. One student exclaimed, \"We can actually build our own ideas now!\" That sense of empowerment has been a game-changer.\r\n\r\nWe've already put these materials to great use in our STEM lessons. With the engineering center, students have been designing and testing simple machines, discovering the forces behind motion and structure. They've built bridges inspired by local landmarks and experimented with creating strong, stable designs. The portable photo printer has allowed them to document their projects, creating a \"STEM Showcase\" where they proudly display their work and reflections. One student even used it to print a picture of their structure alongside a traditional Native American dwelling, making real-world connections between culture and engineering.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're planning a student-led exploration of environmental science, using LEGO models and magnetic tiles to simulate ecosystems and natural phenomena. Your generosity has opened up new possibilities for my students, helping them see themselves as future scientists and engineers. It is very rare that the students have the opportunity to utilize brand new items for themselves. The students also liked the fact that someone is generous enough to spend their own money to give to them. One first grade student said, \"I feel so special that someone wanted to buy these (magnetic letters) for us!\"\r\nOne of the first activities we did with the magnetic letters was to practice our ABC order. Each kindergartner was able to have their own set of letters for the first time. They loved how it was magnetic letters and they did not lose a single piece! \r\nAnother group of students were able to try the Lego Gear Bots to create some fun figures! One fifth grader said, \"Why can't we work with Legos everyday?\" I am looking forward to continue using the Lego Gear Bots for future classes because they were such a hit!\r\nAs the school year is coming to a close, I look forward to making plans to continue finding new ways to use the items I received from your donations. It has truly made a world of difference in our classroom. With this new printer, my students now have access to colorful diagrams, vocabulary cards, and engaging worksheets that bring our lessons to life. In subjects like science and reading, it's allowed us to dive deeper into topics like ecosystems and the water cycle, making them so much easier to understand. The visual materials have helped my students connect the concepts to their own lives in a way that just wasn't possible before.\r\n\r\nWhat's been especially exciting for my students is how this printer has brought their creativity to the forefront. Whether they're working on art projects tied to their Native American heritage or designing math games, they're now able to see their hard work in full color, and it's been a game-changer for their confidence. One of my quieter students, who used to hesitate to share his artwork, has now become so excited to print and show off his designs to the class. It's been amazing to watch his pride and excitement grow as he sees his culture and creativity come to life in print.\r\n\r\nThanks to your donation, my students now have the tools to express themselves, engage more deeply with their lessons, and take pride in their work. Your generosity will go a long way in helping them build essential skills and confidence that will serve them well in the years ahead. By giving them the resources to bring their ideas and culture to life, you're directly contributing to a brighter future for each of them. You are a part of that journey, and your support is something that will have a lasting impact on their education.\r\n\r\nI'm so grateful for the opportunity to watch them grow and thrive, and I can't thank you enough for helping to make this possible.
