All of the students from K to 8th Grade have had a chance to try them out - and we've been making so much music with them - particularly with Pass The Pumpkin in October, and right now 4th through 8th grade is doing an arrangement of Carol of the Bells! \r\n\r\nThe students were absolutely WOWED when they saw them and couldn't wait to paly them. And when it's time to choose and instrument to start with when I have several stations of instruments set up around the room, everyone wants to start on the Xylophones! \r\n\r\nWhat's exciting for me as a music teacher, and for the students, is the range of the instrument. All of our other current classroom instruments are just one octave - C to C. But our Xylophones are an octave and a half - with the option to add in F# or Bflat so not only do we play in the key of C, but also G, F and D minor! \r\n\r\nXylophones make music-making accessible to all ages and skill sets because we use mallets to make music, and just need to be able to hold the mallets an lightly strike the bars.
