Students aren't just talking about concepts anymore, they're bringing ideas to life. They get to design, problem-solve, revise, and actually hold their creations in their hands. It supports STEM learning, creativity, spatial reasoning, and collaboration, while also building confidence as they see their ideas become real objects.\r\nStudents are absolutely amazed that something they imagine, sketch, and design on a screen turns into a real object right in front of them. The excitement when they watch a design slowly print layer by layer is incredible. They love feeling like real engineers and inventors, and it makes school feel fun, meaningful, and magical.\r\nSome of my quieter students and students who sometimes struggle with traditional learning have really connected with the 3D printer. It gives them a hands-on, creative way to shine. I've seen students who are usually hesitant suddenly become leaders, helping peers, sharing ideas, and proudly showing their finished designs. It has truly given many students a new sense of confidence and belonging in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1759000861790,"projectUrl":"project/creating-tomorrows-innovatorsone-layer/9703177/","projectTitle":"Creating Tomorrow’s Innovators—One Layer at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. LaFave","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7421783_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757478311692","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7421783"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_74258","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":808,"numTeachers":53,"percentFrplEligible":37,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":81,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":87.9,"schoolId":74258,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mississippi Hgts Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mississippi Hgts Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/minnesota/sauk-rapids-rice-sch-dist-47/mississippi-hgts-elementary-school/74258"}
