Thanks to you, our art program now has the materials we need to explore creativity in ways that would not have been possible without your support.\r\n\r\nArt has a unique power to inspire, to teach patience, and to build confidence, and clay is one of the most transformative tools in my classroom. It allows students to take abstract ideas and bring them into three-dimensional form, giving them a sense of accomplishment and ownership over their creations. Now, each student has the opportunity to fully engage with clay, experiment with techniques, and develop their skills in sculpting, modeling, and hand-building.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has done more than provide materials - it has sparked imagination. Already, I've seen students who are typically quiet or hesitant in class light up when they pick up a lump of clay. Some are exploring abstract forms, while others make useful objects like trivets, cups, and plates. These moments of creativity and self-expression are made possible because you chose to invest in their learning.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, your support has allowed me to grow as an educator. With the new clay supplies, I can introduce lessons that are more advanced and engaging, teaching techniques like coiling, slab-building, and pinch pot methods that encourage problem-solving and critical thinking. I can guide students in understanding concepts like proportion, balance, and texture, all while fostering collaboration and communication as they share ideas and offer feedback to each other.\r\n\r\nIt's important for my students to know that people care about their learning and their creativity, and your generosity is a powerful example of that. Your support shows them that their ideas, their talents, and their efforts are valued, which encourages them to take risks, try new things, and grow as artists and individuals.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in the potential of my students. Thank you for making this classroom project possible. And thank you for giving them the opportunity to explore their imaginations in ways that will have a lasting impact on their education and their lives. Your kindness and support mean more than words can express, and I am profoundly grateful to each and every one of you for helping make our classroom a place of creativity, learning, and joy.","fullyFundedDate":1746542110306,"projectUrl":"project/1-thing-2-say-we-need-clay/9289069/","projectTitle":"1 Thing 2 Say - We Need Clay!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Faustner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5395918_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1536271878356","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/minersvilleart"},{"teacherId":5395918,"projectId":9326936,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generosity in supporting my recent professional development fundraiser. Because of your kindness, I was able to acquire new Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB) resources, as well as instructional guides for crocheting, digital art, and Cricut machine use. Your contribution has already begun making a real difference in my classroom and in the lives of my students.\r\n\r\nWith the TAB books and materials I acquired, I have been able to restructure parts of the classroom into a more student-driven, choice-based environment. Students are beginning to practice greater independence in selecting materials, planning projects, and expressing their own artistic ideas. I am already seeing them approach artmaking with more confidence and ownership. Your support played a direct role in helping create that shift.\r\n\r\nThe new media guides have also opened up exciting opportunities. Students who may not have connected with drawing or painting are now discovering passions in crocheting, digital illustration, and crafting. Others who are drawn to technology have been thrilled to create designs digitally and transform them into physical pieces. These new forms of expression are giving more students a way to feel seen, capable, and successful.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding outcomes so far has been watching students teach each other. Because they are working with a wider variety of materials, new leaders are emerging. Skill-sharing, collaboration, and genuine excitement for others' creativity are becoming a stronger part of our classroom culture. This is exactly what TAB encourages—and it is happening because I had the chance to study, practice, and implement it with the resources your generosity provided.\r\n\r\nYour donation was not just a gift - it was an investment in curiosity, confidence, and artistic identity. You have helped create a classroom where students feel that their ideas matter, where their personal experiences shape their art, and where there is no single \"right\" way to be creative.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in the power of art education. Because of your support, our classroom now has access to high-quality markers and art supplies that inspire curiosity, joy, and confidence in our learning space every single day.\r\n\r\nOne of the very first activities we did after receiving these materials was a collaborative Tessellation project. Students chose animals and arranged them in a puzzle-like pattern, making vibrant beautiful pieces of art. The other project we have gotten to use the markers for so far was a Picasso style superhero project. And now - my art club students are using the markers to make a life size Candy Land for our Trunk or Treat event.\r\n\r\nYour generosity also supports our ongoing classroom routines. Students now use these materials not only during art-centered lessons but also to create visual mind maps, illustrate stories, decorate journals, and for other projects across content areas. Creativity has woven itself into every corner of our day. The supplies you provided will last us a long time and will support countless projects and learning moments throughout the year.\r\n\r\nPlease know that your support goes far beyond a single donation. The ease of use, vivid pigmentation, and versatility of the markers allowed students to explore new techniques and apply their artistic skills with confidence. You can see one of our POSCA projects in the photos: a student-designed bench for the courtyard outside our classroom. The markers held up beautifully on the wood surface and brought our collaborative vision to life.\r\n\r\nThe bench project became more than just an art activity—it turned into a celebration of community, teamwork, and self-expression. Thanks to your donations, we now have the means to provide high-quality materials—fantasy writing workbooks, story generators, and art supplies—that will allow students to fully immerse themselves in this unique educational experience.\r\n\r\nIn a time when engagement in the classroom can be a challenge, this unit offers something truly special: the chance for students to become heroes of their own stories, to explore fantastical worlds through both narrative and visual art, and to develop writing and artistic skills in a way that is playful, challenging, and meaningful. They'll be creating characters with backstories, navigating quests, and reflecting on what it means to be brave, kind, clever, or flawed. They'll also bring these stories to life visually, designing creatures, maps, and character portraits to complement their writing. This unit invites all types of learners to participate and shine, regardless of whether they're more confident with words or with images—or both!\r\n\r\nYour contributions are not just helping us buy supplies—they're enabling imagination.
