It has quickly become the heart of our learning space, fostering collaboration, engagement, and comfort for my 3rd graders. \r\n\r\nWe've incorporated the rug into our daily routine in so many meaningful ways. During morning meetings, students gather on the rug to share thoughts, set goals, and build community. It also serves as a comfortable space for small group activities, read-alouds, and partner discussions. Just last week, we used the rug for a science project on magnetic forces. Students huddled together, testing materials for magnetism and documenting their discoveries—excitedly sharing observations with one another. \r\n\r\nWhen the rug first arrived, the students were overjoyed! Their eyes lit up as they saw it unrolled for the first time, and the excitement was contagious. \"It's so soft!\" one student exclaimed, while another immediately claimed, \"This is going to be my new favorite spot for reading!\" The rug has truly become a space where students feel welcomed and ready to learn. \r\n\r\nCurrently, we're working on a literacy unit that emphasizes collaboration and critical thinking. Students will use the rug to brainstorm ideas for writing persuasive letters, sit together during peer editing sessions, and enjoy independent reading time. This space has given them the freedom to collaborate and grow as learners in ways that weren't possible before. \r\n\r\nYour support has made such a meaningful difference in our classroom.
