In previous years, planting was less successful due to poor soil conditions. However, with the new garden beds filled with fresh soil, we were able to successfully grow these plants and create a beautiful garden! \r\n\r\nPlanting a garden was a new experience for many students. They were able to pick the plant they wanted, prepare the soil, plant and water. They were then able to see how the plants started to grow in the late spring. Today, the garden is still looking beautiful, and the now third-graders have a view of the beds from their classrooms.\r\n\r\nThese beds are now a permanent part of the courtyard at Miller School and will be enjoyed by many students in the coming years. The Pollinator Party has become an annual event, teaching students the importance of pollinators through six stations, from bee-keeping to taste testing, and more. We immediately put all of the materials to use. Each item that we received has helped with our learning in different ways.\r\n\r\nWith the addition of our stacking stools, we are now able to easily work in small groups. Students can gather at my table where they can get the small group instruction that they need. We can now have up to 6 students at my teacher's table at once.\r\n\r\nKeeping the books organized by reading level in colorful bins has made independent reading go more smoothly. Students now can easily find a book at their reading level and then return the book to the appropriate bin.
