I bought them canvas bags to decorate so they could borrow their gloves and hats for the whole year!! They played much longer and were much less sniffly coming inside!!\r\n\r\nAlso, the snacks that were provided lasted over a month! With 27 Kindergarteners in my class, my students are always hungry! Teaching at a Title I school, it always was importante to me that my students had full bellies and felt safe, clean, and encouraged at school. Younger grades explored texture, while grade 4 applied design techniques to handmade ware and 5th grade translated a 2-dimensional shape into a 3-dimensional form (the added bonus was working with clay \"colorado\" - red clay).\r\nI wish I could upload video of when the supplies first started arriving. Our artists were shocked that *everyone* got a chance to discover and build. Our next steps are to explore our clay-rich environment to see if we can harvest the resource directly from nature so we can create an annual tradition of earthenware works. Thank you SO much for funding the resources for these learning experiences.
