They are thrilled to have their own copies to read in class and at home—many even choose to take them home so they can be ready for our next discussion. The Westing Game has them hooked; they can't wait to read ahead as they analyze characters, search for clues, and debate who \"did it.\" They are learning the elements of a mystery and delight in spotting red herrings along the way.\r\n\r\nThe Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is helping students grow their vocabulary while exploring powerful themes of friendship and learning how to love others. Save Me a Seat has sparked thoughtful conversations about kindness, empathy, and how we treat one another. Meanwhile, The Phantom Tollbooth continues to challenge them with clever wordplay and deepens their understanding of figurative language.\r\n\r\nYour support has truly enriched our classroom. These stories are not only improving reading skills but also inspiring curiosity, compassion, and a genuine love for literature. Thank you for giving my students the gift of great books and the joy of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1758798180330,"projectUrl":"project/great-literature/9677025/","projectTitle":"Great Literature","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Heffleger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5250096"},{"teacherId":6360056,"projectId":8921628,"letterContent":"I know that all students learn different, my students even learn different then that. They are very energetic and have a hard time sitting and staying focused for periods of time. The bean bags that were purchased has changed some of that movement around the classroom. During story time and computer time, the students will sit in the bean bags and stay focused and feel comfortable. They will sit in those for 70% more time then they would if they were sitting in a chair. Therefore, I want to thank everyone who made this possible for them.\r\n\r\nThe sensory toys that were also purchased has help students stay focused on the task at hand. When they start to feel overwhelmed, they have a chance to pick one or two sensory items to bring them back to the table and continue on with their education without get frustrated or displaying negative behaviors.\r\n\r\nAgain, I want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts and you all did something truly amazing for my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1735682167103,"projectUrl":"project/autism-is-different-and-we-all-learn-dif/8921628/","projectTitle":"Autism is Different and We All Learn Differently","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Blankenship","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6360056"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_89511","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":289,"numTeachers":20,"percentFrplEligible":34,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":89,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":91.2,"schoolId":89511,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Middle Paxton Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Middle Paxton Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/central-dauphin-school-district/middle-paxton-elementary-school/89511"}
