I was starting to think it may not happen. THEN, that amazing morning when I checked my email and I saw \"YOUR PROJECT HAS BEEN FUNDED\", I could hardly contain my excitement. \r\n\r\nI received packages from various companies for a few weeks and always let a student help me open the boxes. It was like Christmas for them and to see their faces when we unboxed the items was priceless. \r\n\r\nSince my project was primarily sensory based items, the benefit for the kids extends beyond my speech therapy students. In fact, the entire school is able to use and enjoy them. I love seeing them being used and providing effective sensory input to the kids that really need it. As I mentioned in my original project proposal, the kids I work with have trauma, severe in many cases. Their ability to regulate their emotions is skewed, and the amount of time we spend trying to get them to a place where they can learn is higher than with typically developing children. \r\n\r\nI would say, hands down, the most used item to date is the GIANT \"bean bag\" chair. It provides so much support for the kids yet is comfy and soft, it really draws the kids in. I love that you can see their behavior and emotions regulate while using this chair.\r\n\r\nThank you from the bottom of my heart, and thank you from the kids. We couldn't have bought any of these items without your support, and it really means the world to us and our school.","fullyFundedDate":1739373226612,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-support/8913791/","projectTitle":"Sensory Support","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brooks","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5268119_orig.jpg?crop=1219,1219,x806,y665&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731081893734","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5268119"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_126362","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":45,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":46,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":33,"percentIndigenous":3,"percentLatinx":41,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":41.7,"schoolId":126362,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mesa Center for Success Jordan on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mesa Center for Success Jordan","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/mesa-public-schools/mesa-center-for-success-jordan/126362"}
