Thanks to the materials you provided, we were able to bring art to life in our classroom in exciting and meaningful ways. This project allowed my young students to explore their creativity, develop essential skills, and build confidence, all while having fun with various art materials.\r\nIn Pre-K, we focus on fostering creativity and self-expression through hands-on experiences, and your donation made this possible. With the new supplies, including colorful paints, markers, clay, textured papers, and brushes, my students could explore different artistic techniques in ways that stimulated their imaginations. Whether using their hands to create sculptures, experimenting with colors in a painting, or learning about shapes and patterns through collage-making, each activity encouraged them to think outside the box and express their ideas freely.\r\nThe most incredible part of this experience was watching my students grow in their fine motor skills. They gained greater control over their hand movements while grasping brushes, squeezing paint bottles, and shaping clay. These activities helped them improve their hand-eye coordination and prepare for other early academic tasks, such as writing and drawing. The joy of watching a child's face light up as they completed a project was priceless.\r\nAdditionally, the art projects provided important social and emotional benefits. Working together on shared projects allowed the students to practice collaboration and communication. They learned to express their thoughts to one another, share materials, and offer praise for each other's work. For many children, art also served as a way to express their feelings and experiences, giving them a non-verbal outlet for emotions they might not yet know how to articulate.\r\nThe impact of this project has been evident in so many ways. Not only have my students developed key academic and social skills, but they have also developed a sense of pride and accomplishment in their creations. The experience has helped build their confidence, as they have learned that their unique ideas are valuable and worth sharing with others.\r\nIn conclusion, your support has been instrumental in creating a dynamic and enriching environment for my Pre-K students. Through art, they have grown in creativity, fine motor skills, and emotional expression. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to offer these experiences, and I look forward to continuing to nurture their creativity in the months to come.\r\nThank you for making such a meaningful difference in the lives of my students.","fullyFundedDate":1727203645993,"projectUrl":"project/art-is-an-expression-of-creativity/8532186/","projectTitle":"Art is an Expression of Creativity","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9616164_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753363151014","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/lequandra-smith"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_132597","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":401,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":92,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - Pre-K","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":132597,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Meridian Pre-Kindergarten Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Meridian Pre-Kindergarten Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/mississippi/meridian-public-school-district/meridian-pre-kindergarten-academy/132597"}
