The items received have enhanced our school community building efforts. Students have used the materials for a number of projects including bringing awareness to issues such as dating violence prevention and mental health support. \r\n\r\nIn addition, the games and snacks have been very helpful when we have conflict resolution and mediation sessions. I can think of at least one session where 2 students were having a hard time communicating and I invited them to play air hockey, it was a great way to break the ice and invite them to talk about the conflict they were having. The snacks and games support our social skills building groups which we hold weekly. Students appreciate having nourishment during our group times!\r\n\r\nOur students needing more support have used the lamp and the weighted blanket as calming tools when they are overwhelmed and anxious. \r\n\r\nI have had staff use some of the items ( coloring, scratch paper, markers) to initiate discussions with students to resolve a conflict or have a difficult conversation. \r\n\r\nPlease know that every single item we received is being thoughtfully used in group sessions and individual meets.
