They were taught to work within Tinkercad software as it is allowable in this district. These stories have transformed our reading club into a place where imagination and literacy skills grow side by side.\r\n\r\nThe Harry Potter texts allow us to teach and practice a wide range of reading skills in meaningful ways. Students are learning how to track complex character development, identify themes such as friendship and courage, and use context clues to understand challenging vocabulary rooted in Greek and Latin roots. The series also encourages critical thinking as students make predictions, compare characters' choices, and debate moral dilemmas presented in the books.\r\n\r\nSeveral of our students who were previously reluctant readers have found joy and confidence in these books. One student who often avoided reading time now proudly volunteers to read aloud because he \"knows what's happening\" and \"doesn't want to miss out on the adventure.\" Another student has started writing her own fantasy story, inspired by the world-building she sees in the series. Moments like these remind us that reading is not only about comprehension, but also about identity, creativity, and belonging.","fullyFundedDate":1746783033206,"projectUrl":"project/making-magic-happen-in-reading/9284193/","projectTitle":"Making Magic Happen in Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Stone","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/flippedinstruction"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_101815","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":668,"numTeachers":41,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":86,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":78.8,"schoolId":101815,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Medio Creek Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Medio Creek Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/southwest-independent-school-district/medio-creek-elementary/101815"}
