The supplies you provided—light blue durable folders, Puffs Plus Lotion tissues, PURELL hand sanitizer, and kid-friendly adhesive Band-Aids—have become essentials that support both learning and well-being every single day.\r\n\r\n\r\nBut the biggest transformation has come from the \"little things\" that most people don't realize make such a huge difference in a Title I classroom. Before this project, students frequently had to leave class and walk all the way to the office on the other side of the school for tissues—only to find that they were often out, or that the tissues available were so rough students avoided using them altogether. Now, because of the soft Puffs Plus Lotion boxes you donated, noses aren't hurting, kids aren't embarrassed, and we've eliminated those constant disruptions that pulled them away from instruction.\r\n\r\nThe same has been true with Band-Aids. Students ask for them all the time, and having easy access to a box in the classroom means no more lost learning time, no more unnecessary office visits, and quicker solutions for scraped knees, hangnails, or little injuries that feel big in the moment. The fun planets-and-stars designs didn't hurt either—they genuinely bring smiles!\r\n\r\nThe large bottles of hand sanitizer have also helped keep all of us healthier. Students use them responsibly and independently, and I've personally noticed fewer colds, runny noses, and sniffles. It's a small change with a huge impact—students can stay focused, comfortable, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nYour donations didn't just supply materials. You gave my students a classroom where they feel cared for, prepared, and able to stay in the room learning instead of being sent out for things we now have on hand. You helped create a smoother, calmer, and healthier school day for everyone—including me.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing that even the small things matter. In our classroom, they make all the difference.","fullyFundedDate":1755219152841,"projectUrl":"project/small-fixes-big-impact-classroom-essen/9516735/","projectTitle":"Small Fixes, Big Impact: Classroom Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Sarah","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9519931_orig.jpg?crop=2048,2048,x0,y88&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1714007564788","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9519931"},{"teacherId":9519931,"projectId":8330313,"letterContent":"I cannot begin to tell you how my classroom library has changed reading. Every student in my classroom, the year I received this donation, read for 20 minutes EVERY DAY after lunch from a classroom library book. Every student was actively reading books and finishing the ones they liked. All 28 of my students. This is unheard of. It is because of your donation that I saw this beautiful scene every day during a hard year.\r\n\r\nHaving books, books that students are interested in and that I can teach with, fill our shelves is something I will forever be grateful for. Our library has continued to grow, but our most loved books came from this donation. \r\n\r\nMy Spanish books and graphic novels get used every day. Our series are used every year, multiple times. My students love our library and almost every student in my classes have a book checked out from our library. I read them chapters from our books, recommend titles, use books to teach from, and create opportunities for students to explore all our books and genres at least twice a year (like \"Starbooks\").\r\n\r\nI will forever be grateful and astonished at the books that fill our shelves and are well loved and well read. The students use the equipment every day with joy and purpose. Soccer and volleyball have become clear favorites every day, and the basketballs see steady action at every week as well!\r\n\r\nStudents showed IMMEDIATE excitement when they saw the shiny new equipment just for them! Astonishingly, not one piece of equipment has been lost! Which is so rare in an elementary school... Students even name the balls with human names and treat them like valued teammates — a small sign of the respect and the ownership they feel. Plus, it's really fun when students line-up to come in from recess for me to yell \"Where is Patricia?! Do we have Patricia and Enzo?!\" every day! \r\n\r\nWe are deeply grateful — your gift provides not just equipment but opportunities for leadership, cooperation, and healthy habits that will benefit our students for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1751928743621,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-play-recess-balls-for-health-an/9429096/","projectTitle":"Help Us Play! The students are absolutely obsessed! Chess time has become a DAILY request and a space where curiosity, perseverance, and life-lessons flourish! We play at least two or three times a week as a whole class, with students paired up randomly almost every time. No one says \"aw, I don't want to be their partner\" when we play chess. \r\n\r\nWhen our entire grade first began learning chess the first week of school, some of my students showed reluctance and hesitation. Now, those same students are the ones that play chess almost EVERY break! Every student in my class, even those that were new after school started, have learned to play and actually enjoy it! And they keep getting better and beating me... I have to play more and study some moves to keep up with them!\r\n\r\nChess took down all the barriers in communication, and now every student helps their classmates learn and get better. One student in particular was new to speaking and learning English, but he knew how to play chess. He sat with me the first week of school and played, and taught me some Spanish as I taught him some English. He then played other students and practiced his English and coaching! He is now more confident and fluent, and I really believe I can attribute that to playing chess.\r\n\r\nWe still play chess regularly, and students have even told me that they have taught a parent at home to play! I am so excited for our first grade-level tournament coming up and future state competitions. Chess really does teach important life skills, including think before you move, and I have seen its impact in how students think about their own behaviors and actions. Chess is a relatable teaching metaphor. \r\n\r\nThank you again for providing these chess sets. They're more than a game; they're a tool for growth, community, and joyful learning.","fullyFundedDate":1750256233050,"projectUrl":"project/think-before-you-move-building-minds/9374155/","projectTitle":"“Think Before You Move”: Building Minds Through Chess","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Sarah","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9519931_orig.jpg?crop=2048,2048,x0,y88&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1714007564788","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9519931"},{"teacherId":2749075,"projectId":9588064,"letterContent":"When our chess clocks arrived, the excitement in my classroom was immediate! My 6th graders at Meadowlark Elementary, a Title I school in Salt Lake City, couldn't wait to put them to use. With the clocks, our chess games have become more focused, fair, and engaging. Students are learning to manage their time, think strategically, and make decisions under pressure. Beyond the board, these skills are showing up in their schoolwork and confidence. Many students who were hesitant to play before now join eagerly, because the clocks keep games moving and give everyone a chance to participate.
