In the past, it was a struggle for students to attend their lessons because we only had my computer which I still needed to teach the remaining students in class. My students are Intensive Reading Students that struggle with reading comprehension that often stems from lack of desire or motivation to read. With the new books and reading selections added to the class they can utilize some time in between assignments to enjoy their new reading material along with a snack. I found that students were excited about the subject matter of the new books received. \r\nFinding ways to engage students in reading has been difficult in the past, but with this new load for the classroom students may find a new found love for reading and will likely have an increased desire to read. Many could not believe that someone randomly donated to our cause to support their musical journey. After I gave each student who did not have a shoulder rest one, they testified in class about how much more comfortable it was for them to learn and participate in class having the shoulder rest on their instrument. The band room can get hot quickly and the fan helps in cooling down the entire space. We also use the speaker system daily to listen to the pitch we need to hear. Students who may be absent on Theory Thursdays may use the desk cart to complete their work or they may take a digital test using the desk.
