Vocabulary A-Z has changed how we approach spelling by providing personalized word lists tailored to each child's skill level. Instead of everyone working on the same list, students receive words that are just right for them, helping spelling practice feel achievable and motivating. The interactive games and digital activities make spelling engaging, while allowing students to learn at their own pace.\r\n\r\nStudents are especially excited to work on spelling words that match their ability and help them feel successful. Those who once felt overwhelmed by traditional spelling lists now approach spelling time with confidence, while students who are ready for a greater challenge stay engaged and motivated. Vocabulary A-Z allows students to practice independently and take ownership of their learning, which has had a positive impact on their confidence as learners.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who struggled with spelling earlier in the year have made noticeable progress and show greater pride in their work. Personalized spelling lists give them repeated practice without frustration, helping them build accuracy and confidence over time. Your support has made a meaningful difference by providing a spelling program that supports every learner and helps students feel proud of their growth.","fullyFundedDate":1760721120133,"projectUrl":"project/building-strong-spellers-with-vocabulary/9614042/","projectTitle":"Building Strong Spellers with Vocabulary A-Z","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Beghin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1568150_orig.jpg?crop=2004,2005,x0,y187&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1574729287255","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsbeghin"},{"teacherId":1568150,"projectId":9314145,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, technology has become a meaningful and motivating part of learning in our second grade classroom. Students use programs like A-Z, Lexia, and Happy Numbers every day to work at their own level, whether they are strengthening reading fluency, practicing math skills, or improving spelling. These tools allow students to move at a pace that fits them, building independence and confidence as they see their own progress. Many students especially love using microphones to record themselves reading aloud, which has been a huge boost to both fluency and self-confidence.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for students is feeling successful and focused while using technology that truly supports their learning. With the new class set of durable headphones, every student can fully engage in individualized instruction at the same time. Instead of struggling with broken or unreliable headphones, students can now listen carefully, speak clearly, and stay immersed in their learning without distractions. The classroom feels calmer, more focused, and more equitable for all learners.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who benefit from extra support have especially thrived with this technology. Having reliable headphones helps them concentrate, replay instructions as needed, and practice skills privately, which builds confidence and persistence. Your kindness has made a lasting impact on our classroom, and I am so grateful for your belief in our students and their learning.\r\n\r\nThe variety of books has been especially meaningful. Students with different interests and reading levels are finding stories they connect with, whether they love humor, adventure, animals, or realistic characters they can relate to. Some of my students who were once hesitant or reluctant readers are now eagerly asking for the next book in a series or begging for \"just one more chapter.\" Seeing their confidence grow as readers has been one of the most rewarding outcomes of your generosity.\r\n\r\nThe storage bins you provided have also made a tremendous difference in how our classroom functions. With these bins, our library is now organized, accessible, and inviting. Students can independently find, return, and care for books, which builds responsibility and ownership of our shared space. The bins have made it easier for students to browse by genre or series, helping them make thoughtful choices and spend more time reading instead of searching. This organization has turned our classroom library into a space that feels special and valued by everyone.\r\n\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our second graders and for helping make reading engaging, accessible, and joyful. Your donation has had an immediate and meaningful impact. This spring, my students had the opportunity to explore packaged collections like sticker sets and binder clip packs, which allowed them to break numbers apart and begin working with the foundations of multiplication. These hands-on experiences helped them develop a stronger sense of how numbers work together, and it was incredible to see their excitement and confidence grow as they made new mathematical discoveries.\r\n\r\nWhile we didn't yet have the chance to use the larger counting collections this school year, I'm excited to incorporate them into next year's instruction.
