They have been looking forward to painting all semester.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, the students were able to experiment with various painting techniques earlier in the week. After they developed their painting techniques, we moved on to studying LIDAR maps in order to create abstract landscape paintings. The students were able to further develop their painting skills without the limitations of not having the tools and materials that they needed.\r\n\r\nAs the only elective class that they have this semester, students were able to develop skills while also feeling comfortable in their creativity.","fullyFundedDate":1756758029115,"projectUrl":"project/watercolor-landscape-paintings-inspired/9516068/","projectTitle":"Watercolor Landscape Paintings inspired by LIDAR Technology","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ross","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8926921_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1673581271838","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8926921"},{"teacherId":7643690,"projectId":9719802,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support! My students were beyond excited when they first saw the new whiteboards and markers. They couldn't wait to start using them, and we immediately put them to use during our vocabulary review. It was amazing to see how something as simple as whiteboards could bring so much energy and engagement into our classroom.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the boards regularly during lessons, especially for vocabulary practice. One of my favorite moments was during a team review game, students were eagerly racing to write the correct word or definition on their boards and hold them up. They're very competitive and love sharing their answers with the class. This excitement also encourages them to double-check their spelling and accuracy before writing anything down, which has helped improve their attention to detail. As we continue building our vocabulary and literacy skills, the whiteboards have become an essential and fun part of our daily routine.\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting our classroom you've made a lasting impact!","fullyFundedDate":1758800216229,"projectUrl":"project/erase-and-repeat/9719802/","projectTitle":"Erase and Repeat","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Castro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7643690_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753109283397","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/castrofiorito"},{"teacherId":9528502,"projectId":9049425,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation to the project, called \"Hot Topics\". Students can utilize pencils, dry erase markers, and laser thermometers for several critical applications:\r\n1.\tMonitoring Temperature Changes safely: Monitoring temperatures in our chemical reactions, ensuring that theory lines up with praxis is essential to understanding thermochemistry and energy.\r\n2.\tEnergy Efficiency: By accurately measuring temperature variations, we can identify areas where energy is being released. This an help us implement more efficient practices, reducing our carbon footprint and operational costs.\r\n3.\tNote-taking. Taking notes on the dry erase board offers a large space and colorful options, which is more enjoyable for students.\r\n4.\tPracticing drawing models. Graphing temperature data and modeling the point during a chemical reaction when energy is absorbed or released improves the ability of my students to think through processes we are unable to see with the naked eye. \r\n\r\nWe appreciate donors giving us the opportunity to explore these important topics experientially in the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1738338233401,"projectUrl":"project/exploring-hot-topics/9049425/","projectTitle":"Exploring Hot Topics","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bishop","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9528502"},{"teacherId":9528502,"projectId":8547928,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for taking responsibility when you were being called to do so. The original purpose of the American education system was to ensure we the people became responsible, well equipped people and were able to participate in our society. The education system has had some challenges with achieving this for all. Thank you for continuing to help where our system sometimes needs it. I appreciate your care. Even though they can't see the full impact today, the students appreciate the engagement!\r\n\r\nThe spacious whiteboard has been a great benefit to students' academic development. Students are able to express themselves creatively (but concisely) during Chemistry modeling; and they use the space to clearly make connections during data interpretation. It's really great for them to walk through processes \"on paper\" without needing to purchase or throw away so much paper. Also, with the whiteboard, they have fun.\r\n\r\nThe LEGO robots allow students to connect with technology in a colorful way. They create models in Chemistry (to explore molecular structure, think about instrumental design, etc.) and they love it. We are still getting used to having this technology in the classroom, but students are being responsible to maintain the integrity of the kits as we move forward in coding and building original designs. \r\n\r\nI am so grateful to transform my classroom into this versatile STEM class.
