We have become more competitive and several gamers have earned scholarships to continue their Esports careers at thee college level. You also supplied us with cleaning supplies that we can use, especially when sickness is going around. We love all the kleenex, wipes, and napkins. Sometimes our students need fidgets and tools to help them calm down and regulate. You also provided some ways that they can communicate their feelings and de-escalate when they are feeling anxious, frustrated, mad, and all those other feelings. All of the things were well-needed and a blessing to our students. \r\n\tOur students felt like it was their b-day or Christmas when the packages started rolling in. We are so happy and thankful for all the things that we received. \r\n\tOur next steps are to continue using the reinforcers to encourage our students to follow classroom rules and demonstrate respectful and engaging behaviors so they can learn and to incorporate the sensory toys as needed, and to use the other resources to help in our school-based coffee shop for students with special needs, so they can learn job, transition, and life skills.","fullyFundedDate":1739374642454,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-incentives-and-cleaning-oh-my/8976619/","projectTitle":"Sensory, Incentives, and Cleaning Oh My!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Vangilder","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7263821_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720749307279","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7263821"},{"teacherId":9528400,"projectId":8663406,"letterContent":"Again thank you all so much for making this dream a reality. Students tend to get bored and disengage with the texts we are used to reading in the classroom to teach concepts like the Hero's Journey. Getting to allow students a choice in their reading opened up a world of possibility and engagement for them to grasp the concepts. A lot of free will was given to my students with this unit and for the most part they rocked it creating their own reading schedules for completing the novel by their assigned meeting dates, generating their own questions for discussion, choosing how they were going to showcase their knowledge of the novel and of the Hero's Journey. Some days were filled with lively discussion around a Jenga tower of questions and prompts, others were spent furiously reading trying to reach that next chapter to bring their thoughts to the table, and others spent in lively discussion as groups prepared their final projects for presentation to the class. \r\n\r\nThe novels overall were a huge hit with my students, everyone was reading something they enjoyed and it allowed them to think about books they may just read for pleasure in a new way. Students were pumped and excited to read these novels and had fun learning through them! As this was piloted with my advanced group I gave them the option to read at home or during their meeting time. A mix of both at home and in class reading is always encouraged and practiced in my classes.","fullyFundedDate":1727964722231,"projectUrl":"project/heros-journey-through-lit-circles/8663406/","projectTitle":"Hero's Journey Through Lit Circles","teacherDisplayName":"Mx.
