This is in no part thanks to the donations that came from you. We've all heard the stories and seen the news, Tacoma Public Schools are in a budget crunch. We're loosing staff, and loosing classes, and loosing employees downtown. And of course there is very little money to fund the fun stuff: 3D printers, digital cameras, micro-processors, etc.\r\n\r\nThat's where you came in. Thanks to your generous efforts I was able to open my workroom this year, with brand new machines. I was able to provide every group in Digital Media class with a new DSLR camera - that works! Especially in a cash-strapped service like the public school system. If you are local and were able to come to CTE Day you saw all the great stuff my students did: building robotic carnival games, creating a gallery walk of photos, 3D printing cookie cutters and baking hundreds of cookies to hand out, and much more. I probably became too excited and overwhelmed that I forgot. So forgive me for taking too long to thank you for your generosity.\r\n\r\nBy having enough, good quality cameras, my students were able to create great pictures and display for a gallery walk during CTE Day at Mason last year. They are putting them to great use. \r\n\r\nThis semester I have added a unit that incorporates the use of LEGO minifigures and it was a hit. Some of the pictures the students took were amazing! We also were able to submit pictures in all three categories (people, still life, nature) to the Tacoma Middle School Digital Arts competition.\r\n\r\nFinally we have experimented more with some new techniques, take \"ghost\" pictures using long exposures.
