To start, the standing desks are incredibly useful and such a healthy alternative to the usual student desk. My students voluntarily move to the standing desks (taking turns when needed) with no permission needed when they either need to stand for physical relief or when they feel they are \"zoning out\" and would rather keep themselves alert. Additionally I am eager to let you know that when the boxes came in with these desks, I had two students who were very excited to be able to assemble them as they work in a store where this type of building is commonplace to them. They were so proud to be able to contribute in this way!\r\nThe diffuser is not only pretty, but again, my students have taken on the responsibility of keeping it full and on whenever we have class (one student in particular is very fond of this duty!) My Pashto speakers have been eager to tell me more about the proverbs they know, inspired by our bilingual book which sits on the shelf by the diffuser. Also on this shelf are the mandala books and coloring pencils which have become a lovely quiet time activity and the pictures grace our walls. My students slid their desks together to collaborate in small groups and brainstorm ideas for their class assignment. The ease we experienced moving from rows to small groups and back again inspired us to change the setup of the room more often. My students are able to shift into any configuration, allowing them to work together more often and with more members of our classroom community.\r\n\r\nA class favorite item has been the standing desk.
