During phonics, students practice letter sounds, build words, and write simple sentences, which allows me to quickly check for understanding and give immediate feedback. In math, they use them to solve problems, show their thinking, and try out different strategies without the fear of making mistakes.\r\nWhen the students first saw the whiteboards, they were beyond excited! There were lots of smiles, and they couldn't wait to start using them. Even my more hesitant learners became eager to participate because the whiteboards make learning feel fun and low-pressure.\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching students confidently write and erase as they worked through problems together—it created such an engaging and interactive environment.\r\nNext, we will continue using our whiteboards to build independence and confidence, especially as we move into more complex phonics skills and multi-step math problems. These tools are helping students take risks, stay engaged, and grow every day.\r\nThank you for making such a meaningful impact in our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1766424663602,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-learning-whiteboards-for-every/9955757/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Learning: Whiteboards for Every Student","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Duarte","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9736321_orig.jpg?crop=288,288,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1769195133901","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9736321"},{"teacherId":9287601,"projectId":9402787,"letterContent":"Thank you for bringing our classroom to life! Your gifts have turned our room into a workshop where my second graders can touch, explore, and create. While many adults use digital tools at home, my students are at a stage where physical tools are the most powerful way for them to learn.\r\n\r\nIn second grade, the brain and the hands work together. These materials aren't just toys; they are essential instruments for building fine motor skills and literacy foundations.\r\n\r\nThe Giant Magnetic Draw & Write Page: This has become our \"big stage\" for literacy. It allows students to practice letter formation on a large scale, which helps them build the muscle memory they need for handwriting.\r\n\r\nWrite & Wipe Alphabet Cards: These offer a \"no-fear\" way to practice. Because they can easily erase a mistake, students are much more willing to take risks with difficult letters or new words.\r\n\r\nSensory Sand & Dough Tools: These provide \"tactile feedback.\" By physically shaping letters or numbers in the sand, students are engaging multiple senses at once, which helps the information \"stick\" in their memory much better than just looking at a book.","fullyFundedDate":1759540659671,"projectUrl":"project/learning-powered-up-from-ink-to-imagina/9402787/","projectTitle":"Learning Powered Up: From Ink to Imagination","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. del Rio","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9287601_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1697330466678","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9287601"},{"teacherId":9287601,"projectId":9093211,"letterContent":"Thank you again for your generous support of our classroom project. Your donation provided us with high-quality headphones, a Jumbo Time Timer, fun teacher stamps, laminated materials, tennis balls for chair legs, and a $100 Teachers Pay Teachers gift card. Each of these items has made a noticeable difference in our daily learning experience. The premium classroom headphones, in particular, have allowed students to fully engage with reading and language learning programs without distractions. Many of our digital platforms, like iReady, Epic, and listening comprehension tools, require audio, and before this project, several students had trouble focusing due to poor-quality headphones or none at all. Now, students are more engaged, focused, and confident during independent work.\r\nWhat's been most exciting for my students is how \"real\" and \"professional\" everything feels now. They love earning stamps that reflect their hard work and seeing their activities laminated so they last longer and look special. One student, Mateo, who used to struggle with transitions and time management, is now thriving thanks to the visual clarity of the Jumbo Time Timer. He no longer needs constant reminders to stay on task, and he can now self-monitor and finish his work with less anxiety. Another student, Ariana, says the new headphones \"make school feel like a library.\" It's small things like this that have had a big impact on their comfort and independence in the classroom.\r\nYour support has brought more peace, more focus, and more joy to our learning space.
