They share their thinking and build on each others' work as they solve problems together at the boards. \r\n\r\nThe students work in randomized groups of three. This is helping them learn to interact with others and cooperate to meet a common goal. The students who are usually quiet are more likely to speak. Students who don't typically interact, eventually end up grouped with each other. \r\n\r\nAnother benefit to working at the boards is it forces the students to verbalize their thinking to each other and holds them all accountable for the work.
