Because of your generosity, our English Language Arts 12 classroom now has a snack station that meets students where they are , often arriving tired, hungry, and carrying responsibilities far beyond school. Many of my seniors balance jobs, caregiving, and household support alongside their coursework. The snacks you provided are used daily during reading, writing workshops, and class discussions, especially in the mornings and late afternoons when energy is lowest. Having quick access to food like granola bars, trail mix, and fruit cups has helped students stay alert, participate more consistently, and push through longer academic tasks.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the snack station, their reactions were immediate and heartfelt. There was genuine gratitude, quiet relief, and even surprise that their needs were being recognized without judgment. Several students shared that they often skip meals due to time or financial constraints, and having food available in class made them feel supported and respected. This simple resource has reduced stress in the room and created a more focused, calm learning environment where students feel cared for as people not just as learners.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the year, students are working on major ELA 12 projects that require sustained focus, critical thinking, and reflection, including literary analysis and real-world writing tasks connected to their post-graduation goals. Your support ensures that hunger is not a barrier to their success during these important moments. By helping us meet basic needs, you have made it possible for my seniors to engage more fully, persist through challenges, and finish their final year of English feeling supported and capable. Thank you for making a meaningful difference in our classroom and in the lives of these hardworking students.\r\n\r\nWith sincere appreciation,","fullyFundedDate":1764863626844,"projectUrl":"project/sustain-thrive-nourishing-minds-with/9550030/","projectTitle":"Sustain & Thrive: Nourishing Minds With Student Snacks","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Psyche","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9206933_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1713386070931","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9206933"},{"teacherId":8166416,"projectId":9219415,"letterContent":"This year, our students had an incredible opportunity to deepen their understanding of environmental science through hands-on experiments made possible by the generous donation of a universal indicator and an air quality monitor. Using the universal indicator, students were able to visualize the processes of photosynthesis and respiration in real time. By observing color changes in the indicator, they could see how plants absorb carbon dioxide during photosynthesis—raising the pH—and release it during respiration—lowering the pH. This vivid, visual representation helped them connect abstract chemical processes to something tangible and exciting right before their eyes.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the air quality monitor allowed students to track and record local air conditions, gathering data on particulate matter and carbon dioxide levels around our school and nearby green spaces. They compared this information with soil and water quality measurements they collected from their ongoing environmental monitoring project. By combining all three data sets, students designed experiments to test how different environmental factors—air purity, soil nutrients, and water conditions—affect plant growth and health.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for this donation, which not only enriched our science curriculum but also empowered our students to think like researchers. These tools helped them make meaningful connections between environmental conditions and plant life, fostering curiosity, collaboration, and a deeper appreciation for the role humans play in shaping the ecosystems around us.","fullyFundedDate":1753903526137,"projectUrl":"project/unite-eco-explorers-with-essential-scien/9219415/","projectTitle":"Unite Eco-Explorers With Essential Science Supplies!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Manahan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8166416_orig.jpg?crop=1064,1064,x0,y88&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743434145929","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8166416"},{"teacherId":9206933,"projectId":8891993,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our classroom has become a creative space where learning and innovation go hand in hand. The Cricut Maker 3 and Cricut Joy have already made a huge impact—especially during a recent literature project on Hamlet.\r\n\r\nWhen the Cricut machines were first set up, my students couldn't believe their eyes. \"We can actually use these?!\" one student asked, completely in awe. There was immediate excitement as they started brainstorming ideas, and it didn't take long before the Cricut was humming with activity.\r\n\r\nFor our unit on Shakespeare's Hamlet, students used the Cricut to design and print vinyl labels and visuals representing the five-act plot structure. Each act had its own custom label—color-coded, creatively styled, and adorned with symbols or quotes from key scenes. Students loved being able to visualize the rising action, climax, and resolution in such an interactive way. It wasn't just engaging—it helped them better understand the complex structure of the play.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this possible.
