They are able to use these tiny Robots to familiarize themselves with coding and how it works in the world around them. The students create various different tracks and mazes and the Ozobots follow the coding formulas that the students input in order to navigate the paths of the maze. In addition, some students have even moved up to the level where they have coded their Ozobots to do \"tricks.\"\r\n\r\nThe extra packs of markers that are used for creating the codes come in very handy as well. While some students are working just on creating their coded paths for the Ozobots to follow, others are using the Ozobots to navigate the paths they have created. This helps to keep all students engaged and involved with the program.\r\n\r\nWhat I enjoy most, is watching the students help each other to troubleshoot issues with their codes and problem solve together how they can fix it. Most importantly they love to celebrate each others success!\r\n\r\nOverall this project has brought great joy to my students and I can't wait to be able to add on and grow my Ozobot collection.","fullyFundedDate":1741552297941,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-ozobots-to-life/9147783/","projectTitle":"Bringing Ozobots to Life","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wesnofske","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9608015_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737407619495","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9608015"},{"teacherId":3184066,"projectId":8882311,"letterContent":"It's been a some time since I received your incredible donations to my Game Club- and the items you donated to our club really made a hugely positive impact on their well-being. Every time a student chooses one of your games they have a smile on their face. But I'd like to explain just how amazing your donations have been.\r\n\r\nFirst, the kids have made friends with other members of the club. That is hugely important for them in today's world. And the connections they have made through the games you gave are real and genuine. Based on face to face interactions and play. They enjoy each other's company and it's great to see them nourish their new friendships by negotiating and compromising. Another note about the students ability to connect- I have several students who were very shy and felt overwhelmed by the number of other students at the beginning of our club. But through play, have made several new friends and it's really great to watch their social confidence grow. The games help take away focus on their shyness and focus it on enjoyable play. It's amazing to see.\r\n\r\nBut I feel the games donated have another benefit for my students. It may seem like a contradiction, but I feel like the games have given the kids the opportunity to apply their intelligence. Students constantly learn new ways to comprehend facts, concepts, principles etc. But the games give kids the chance to apply their comprehension skills by evaluating the rules of the game (or even creating new ones). Students also learn negotiation skills, as well as compromising with others. And the kids have definitely improved those skills from playing their peers.\r\n\r\nSo in conclusion, thank you so very much for your incredible generosity and thoughtfulness. You really have made my students' world better than before.","fullyFundedDate":1738954455500,"projectUrl":"project/the-game-club-would-be-grateful-to-have/8882311/","projectTitle":"The Game Club Would Be Grateful to Have Games!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Reynolds","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3184066_orig.jpg?crop=1766,1766,x441,y382&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729017934155","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3184066"},{"teacherId":743477,"projectId":8887613,"letterContent":"On behalf of our third-grade class, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation to help us create a cozy and inspiring reading corner. My students were so excited when we received our class set of \"Out of My Mind\" by Sharon M. Draper. We recently started reading the book as a class and we cannot seem to put the book down. The students have shared that they look forward to our read aloud time every day. \r\n\r\n\"Out of My Mind\" has helped to facilitate many classroom discussions about empathy and inclusion. We talk about putting ourselves in other's shoes and how we want others to treat us. We have learned about diversity in classrooms and how everyone is deserving of an education, regardless of what they may look like or what their disabilities are. I am also excited to tie this novel into other books we read this year, such as \"Wonder\" by R.J Palacio. \r\n\r\nThis novel study has been especially important to me as a special education teacher. As I have students who struggle with reading, I fear that in the future, they may face individuals who underestimate their abilities. Technology gives students access to information they are interested in and further widens and strengthens their learning experiences. In my class, my students utilize all the technology that is made available to them. Each student has their own Chromebook and new headset, access to viewing and utilizing our smartboard, and additional audio and visual equipment. Our goal is for our students to increase their English language development, reading, writing, and math skills. \r\n\r\nThe use of the new headsets that were sent to my class served and continues to serve as an essential tool for my students who are second language learners. My students use reading programs that include a listening and speaking component. Each student works at their own pace. There is limited distraction while students are independently working on online educational programs. As I observed my students working on online language activities, they utilized their headsets appropriately. They were focused in class. They practiced vocabulary, action words, adjectives, and sentences. I even observed them repeating words to enhance their English skills. I am more than happy to allow headsets, especially for my students who are just beginning to learn English. They have been more engaged in listening and learning at their own pace when I work with other groups who are on a different academic level. \r\n\r\nThe use of headsets for the \"I Hear You Now\" project has helped and will continue to help my students grow academically as well as improve their ability to listen and learn English.","fullyFundedDate":1726704064329,"projectUrl":"project/i-hear-you-now/8773593/","projectTitle":"I Hear You Now","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wottawa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9242172_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1705637548875","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9242172"},{"teacherId":7555746,"projectId":8429775,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your contributions to my classroom.
