My students often come to school with a lot of emotional trauma. They are often not regulated and not in a calm state to learn. \r\n\r\n Through the use of our classroom calming corner, they are able to grab a weighted stuffed animal and hug it while they do calming breaths. This helps their little bodies to feel safe. The bean bag chairs make this a much more comfortable experience. After a brief five minutes, they are calmer and then they are ready to learn. This has made a tremendous difference.
