The new materials have brought so much joy and possibility to my students. When they first saw everything, their excitement was contagious. They immediately started imagining what they could make, and several of them said it felt like walking into a \"real art studio.\"\r\n\r\nOne of our favorite projects so far has been our glow-in-the-dark art unit in October. Using the supplies you helped provide, students created glowing outer-space scenes and neon line art. We dimmed the lights and turned on blacklights, and the whole room lit up with bright colors and excited whispers. Many students told me it was their favorite art class they've ever had. Having reliable materials meant they could experiment, layer colors, and try new techniques without fear of \"wasting\" anything.\r\n\r\nYour generosity is giving my students experiences they will remember for years. Up next, we're moving into our winter art unit, where students will explore texture, paint, and mixed-media projects. Thanks to you, they'll have the supplies they need to create confidently and express themselves fully. I'm so grateful you chose to support our classroom and help these young artists grow.","fullyFundedDate":1754065257354,"projectUrl":"project/glow-in-the-dark-art-show-out-of-this-w/9466786/","projectTitle":"Glow-in-the-Dark Art Show: Out-of-This-World Students!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Thomas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10047298_orig.jpg?crop=1818,1819,x0,y418&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748648984214","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10047298"},{"teacherId":10038738,"projectId":9365020,"letterContent":"My students and I deeply appreciate the materials your donations provided. The small gray carpet I previously had was not adequate for students to do any type of gross motor movements such as dancing or yoga. The large color block rug you provided gives my students plenty of room for each student to have his/her own rectangular space. This gives each child ownership of the space and helps bring harmony to group time. \r\nThe social/emotional reading materials and signage has provided my students more skills in their toolboxes for dealing with big emotions or social conflicts within the classroom. I've been able to read the books multiple times to reinforce those much needed skills for dealing with emotions in a constructive way. \r\nThe large fidget bands for our chairs have been extremely valuable for my students who desperately need to move more during instructional time slots of the day. Students can bounce their feet with minimal sound which provides the movement they need without disturbing other learners. \r\nThe alphabet letter bots and flower garden manipulatives are both greatly enjoyed during center activities. The letter bots help with letter name and sound recognition during small group time as well. My students and I will be able to utilize and enjoy these assets to the classroom for many years to come.
