Weather consists of several elements, including temperature, atmospheric pressure, wind, humidity, and precipitation (like rain or snow). Using the weather station makes it easy to discuss and observe these elements with students. It has become a routine to check the weather clock almost daily.\r\n\r\nI'm sure we will be using this again later with the Weather Unit and Earth's Climate Changing Unit.\r\n\r\nMoreover, the chromosome and DNA model has been useful in 8th-grade classes, first for identifying these structures and for comparing the two.\r\n\r\nThese tasks may seem simple, but they help create a mental picture for my English learners and make learning more engaging through the use of manipulatives.\r\n\r\nA simple thank you doesn't truly convey my appreciation for your kindness and the difference you are making in my class!","fullyFundedDate":1762363665213,"projectUrl":"project/engaging-learning-experiences-through-ex/9777682/","projectTitle":"Engaging Learning Experiences Through Experimentation and Collaboration","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Shobica Wadhwa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9367694_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y504&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1718213473159","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9367694"},{"teacherId":9367694,"projectId":9717588,"letterContent":"Thank you again for your donation to my classroom. I've also been able to laminate cards and images for students to build their language comprehension and expression. The tongue depressors have provided great multisensory feedback for students' speech sound production. Furthermore, the Toobaloos have been a great tool for supporting my students with their speech sound awareness and production; they love using them! \r\n\r\nI couldn't have provided all of these essential tools to my amazing students without your help. These new resources have been essential in improving students' physical health, teamwork skills, and overall enjoyment of physical education.\r\nThe new balls have been an exciting addition to our PE lessons! We've been using them for a variety of activities, from classic games like soccer, volleyball and football to skill-building exercises. For instance, during a recent lesson students practiced diverse volleyball skills in small groups. It was wonderful to see them apply what they've been learning in a fun and interactive way. The balls have allowed us to do more team-based activities, which really encourages collaboration and communication among students.\r\nWhen the students first saw the new balls, their excitement was contagious! They immediately ran over to touch and inspect them, eager to start playing. The look on their faces when they saw the vibrant new soccer balls, volleyball and footballs was priceless. It's clear that these new resources have helped them feel more engaged and motivated to participate in physical activity.\r\nLooking ahead, we are excited to build on these experiences. The next step for my students is to learn advanced skills in a sport or working on teamwork and strategy in group games. The new balls will allow us to practice and refine these skills in a more focused and effective way. These activities will continue to challenge my students, encouraging them to set personal goals, work together, and stay active.\r\nThank you again for your generous contribution to this project. Your donation has made a real difference in my students' physical education experience. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support. Your contributions have made a significant difference in our students' experiences and have played a crucial role in fostering their creativity and collaboration skills. Throughout this project, our students have had an incredible time engaging with a variety of unique resources, which allowed them to design and create an array of imaginative toys.\r\nFrom the very beginning, the students were excited to see a diverse range of supplies. They were encouraged to think outside the box and come up with innovative concepts for their projects. The variety of materials allowed for experimentation, and students surprised themselves with what they could create when given the freedom to explore their imagination.\r\nThis process not only helped them to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills but also taught them the importance of teamwork. Students collaborated with their peers, sharing ideas and resources, which fostered a sense of community and mutual support. The students designed board games, cars with tracks, drums, maracas, tea pots, and accuracy games.\r\nA significant aspect of the \"Build a Toy\" project was the emphasis on mindfulness regarding supplies. Students were encouraged to be thoughtful about their resource choices, picking only what they needed for their projects. \r\nMoreover, this initiative has had a lasting impact on our students. They have developed a greater appreciation for the creative process and have learned that making mistakes is a part of learning.
