They absolutely love using them—whether it's a tool to help them regulate their emotions, a sensory item to reset, or just something new and exciting to explore. These materials truly help them feel more ready to return to their classrooms with focus and calm.\r\n\r\nWe use the items every day, in whatever way is needed in the moment. One of the most special things is seeing how the students respond to each new resource—every time something new is introduced, their faces light up with excitement. They appreciate having options and enjoy trying out everything with curiosity and joy.\r\n\r\nThis year, I'll also be supporting art instruction, and I'm especially grateful to have these resources available. Art projects can be exciting but sometimes overwhelming for certain students, and having tools that help them regulate and feel safe is incredibly valuable. These materials make a difference not just in those tough moments, but in helping students fully participate and enjoy their learning.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity. These resources have created a more interactive, visible, and collaborative learning environment. Students were immediately drawn to the whiteboards, expressing excitement when they first saw them. The students' enthusiasm carried over into their engagement during lessons, with students eager to write, draw models, and explain their thinking in front of their peers.\r\n\r\nA key moment that highlighted the effectiveness of the whiteboards occurred during a math lesson on multi-digit multiplication. As students worked in small groups at the boards, I was able to easily scan student work in real time. In one group, a common error in place value became apparent. I was able to quickly identify the mistake and was able to reteach to the small group at their whiteboard, using their work as the anchor. This immediate feedback prevented misconceptions from becoming ingrained and helped the students adjust their approach with confidence.\r\n\r\nThe whiteboards not only helped me respond in the moment but also encouraged students to share strategies, ask each other questions, and take ownership of their learning.","fullyFundedDate":1740691504058,"projectUrl":"project/vertical-whiteboards-student-collabora/9081638/","projectTitle":"Vertical Whiteboards + Student Collaboration = Improved Mathematical Thinking","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wilson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2349933_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1466743775240","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ann-wilson38"},{"teacherId":5609013,"projectId":9149282,"letterContent":"The vertical whiteboards have completely transformed the way we collaborate and learn in the classroom! We're using them daily for small group work and peer teaching. One of the most impactful moments so far was during a math lesson on using the subtraction algorithm. Students worked in pairs, each at their own whiteboard, to solve problems in real time. I could walk around and see their thinking unfold right in front of me—mistakes, strategies, and all. It allowed for immediate feedback and helped students take more ownership of their learning. \r\n\r\nThe moment they walked in and saw the vertical whiteboards mounted and ready, there were lots of wide eyes and \"Are those for us?!\" They couldn't wait to jump in and start using them. Today, when I asked them how they felt about the whiteboards, the majority of students gave me an expressive thumbs up. There's something about being able to stand up, move around, and share ideas visibly that really energizes the students.\r\n\r\nRight now, we're working on reviewing concepts we've learned this school year. The whiteboards are playing a key role in the review process, and many students are starting to really grasp concepts, such as subtraction and division, that were confusing for them in the past. It's amazing to see how the whiteboards have fostered a stronger sense of collaboration and ownership of learning.","fullyFundedDate":1742927407336,"projectUrl":"project/vertical-whiteboards-to-build-a-thinking/9149282/","projectTitle":"Vertical Whiteboards to Build a Thinking Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Shank","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5609013_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1534701754065","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5609013"},{"teacherId":9611917,"projectId":9061231,"letterContent":"I am so pleased to let you know how successful our Invention Convention was thanks to your generous donations. In order to participate, students had to go through multiple iterations to get their invention process ready for the convention. It was a happy coincidence, that I was able to purchase not just boards but also white board erase markers for students to use, as well as Clorox wipes to clean our space after the convention. \r\nThe white board markers were the perfect step for brainstorming as well as stopping and jotting ideas while listening to other students present. Their display boards were engaging and beautiful! It was so awesome to be able to just hand over the boards to the students, providing an equitable opportunity for each student to have access to showcase their work.\r\nAnytime students receive donations to support their learning, there is a feeling of excitement and anticipation in the room. Beyond the initial joy of \"opening presents\" students receive a tangible reminder of how their learning and their work matters in the community!","fullyFundedDate":1742947905805,"projectUrl":"project/calling-all-inventors/9061231/","projectTitle":"Calling all Inventors!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lowe","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9611917_orig.jpg?crop=286,286,x0,y37&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722603744205","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9611917"},{"teacherId":9577618,"projectId":8718146,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for your support for our students.
