The moment the students saw the new materials, their eyes lit up—they could hardly wait to explore everything. It has been wonderful to see how these tools immediately sparked curiosity and boosted enthusiasm for math. Even simple routines feel more special now that they know these items were gifted specifically to support their learning.\r\n\r\nOne of the students' favorite activities has quickly become using the new whiteboards to practice their math problems. Something about having their own space to work, erase, and try again has given them a new sense of confidence and independence. They cheer every time it's \"whiteboard time,\" and their level of engagement has noticeably increased. Our material such as the flashcards, card game, and whiteboards are usually used for our review day which has easily become their favorite day of the week.\r\n\r\nThe manipulatives have also helped create excitement around upcoming lessons. Many of the students are already looking forward to learning about fractions because they know they will get to use the new materials—especially playing fraction bingo. These donated tools have truly made a positive impact on our classroom, helping students stay motivated, hands-on, and eager to learn every day.","fullyFundedDate":1757545682128,"projectUrl":"project/making-math-fun/9434493/","projectTitle":"Making Math Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McCurry","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10064345"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_84239","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":727,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":22,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":80,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"21.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":84239,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Main Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Main Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/beavercreek-city-school-district/main-elementary-school/84239"}
