One of the projects we work on is an All About Me book so students go through the writing process and the end result is a published book. In the past, I have done the printing behind the scenes but now students are able to see how their typing turns in to printing and becomes something they published. \r\n\r\nIt is exciting for students to see and use technology because they may not have it at home. Students are especially excited to share their published book. In school students read their book they wrote to their big buddy which is fun for them because usually the big buddy is the one reading books to them. The students are now able to focus much more effectively in a small group setting, and the environment it creates encourages meaningful participation and collaboration. With a designated, comfortable space that's just the right size for small groups, students feel more connected, both to their peers and to the learning material. This table has quickly become an essential part of our daily routine, and the benefits have been evident from the very beginning.\r\nOne of the most noticeable changes is how much easier it has become to pull students into small groups for targeted instruction. In the past, I often struggled to find a suitable spot in the room where students could work together without distractions or feeling cramped. This table provides the perfect setting for focused learning, and the students genuinely look forward to the time they get to spend working in small groups. It creates a sense of importance and structure that supports their learning in ways that truly matter.\r\nThe layout of the table allows me to interact more directly with each student, whether we're working on reading strategies, solving math problems, or engaging in hands-on activities. It fosters a level of engagement that's hard to achieve in larger group settings. Students ask more questions, participate more confidently, and demonstrate greater understanding when they're seated at this table. It's clear that the physical environment plays a major role in their learning experience, and this piece of furniture has helped create a space that feels both productive and welcoming.\r\nYour generosity has made a lasting impact not only on me as an educator but, more importantly, on my students. Many of them benefit immensely from one-on-one and small group instruction, and having a consistent space to do this kind of work has improved both their academic performance and their overall confidence. The table is more than just a piece of furniture—it's a tool that supports learning, growth, and connection.\r\nThank you so much for your support and thoughtfulness. Contributions like yours make an enormous difference in classrooms like mine. It's often the small things—like having a dedicated space to focus—that help students thrive and feel excited about learning. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to give my students what they need to succeed, and I appreciate your part in making that happen. Your generosity has not gone unnoticed, and we are thankful every single day.\r\nThank you again for helping us create a classroom environment where students feel seen, supported, and inspired to do their best. This table will continue to be a centerpiece of learning in our classroom for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1741750393111,"projectUrl":"project/small-group-sharing/9155453/","projectTitle":"Small Group Sharing!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gueco","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8591164"},{"teacherId":9373621,"projectId":9161927,"letterContent":"While many people use tech tools like cameras or lights in their daily lives, it's something else entirely to see how they're used as learning tools in a classroom. Thanks to your donation of the Aputure Amaran 300c RGB COB Video Light, my students are not just learning how to use lighting they're learning how light tells a story.\r\n\r\nIn our media class, the students have begun to understand how professional gear like this can shape a scene's emotion. They're using the RGB settings to simulate different times of day, to add mood to short films, or even to create vibrant backdrops for product shots. We're talking real life problem solving, teamwork, and critical thinking: \"How should this product be lit to make it stand out?\" \"How can we make this interviewee look natural and engaging on camera?\"\r\n\r\nWhat excites the students most is the color changing capability. They love testing dramatic lighting effects blue light for night scenes, warm orange for golden hour and instantly seeing how it affects the look and feel of their footage. A few of my quieter students, who often hold back during discussions, have taken the lead during lighting sessions, showing real confidence as they adjust dimmers and direct the light like pros.\r\n\r\nOne student who used to struggle with classroom engagement now comes in early to set up lights for class shoots. Watching him take ownership of our studio space has been a reminder of what happens when students are trusted with professional grade tools: they rise to the occasion.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping bring this magic into our classroom. When the boxes first arrived, students were so curious to see what was inside them. After we took everything out, the students were very excited. They also get very excited when they get pulled to work with an adult at the \"small-group work space\" because they know they can use the new pieces of furniture.\r\n\r\nIt has made a huge difference in our instruction. The table and whiteboard allow us to work with small groups of students to meet their needs. The students have really benefited from this in such a short amount of time. With multiple adults in the classroom, we are so fortunate to have this workspace so that we can utilize all the help that we have in the classroom. For example, the other day, we noticed a small group of students struggling to find elapsed time. Students got to use the table and whiteboard to get extra practice with elapsed time. After a few more rounds of practice, we noticed improvement in their understanding. Our class received so many exciting book sets that they were jubilant about. By having brand, spanking new books to read, it motivates even my most reluctant readers to grab a book.\r\n\r\nMy students were only gravitating towards Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Dog Man books, so I realized I needed to meet them in the middle. I wanted them to be just as engaged in chapter books as much as graphic novels. Having interesting chapter books like the Who is... series that includes pictures along with information pulls them in and gets them excited about biographies! I wanted the students to WANT to explore more genres on their own. \r\n\r\nWhen we got these new books, I made a big show of it and even used the donated book bins to make them look more enticing! They ate it up. Anything new is exciting. Now that time has passed, students are still picking up the new books and making their way through the series. The technology we have is great, but the young generation is picking up on them earlier and earlier.
