I tried to keep it a secret from my kids, but I was too excited, so I had to let them know what was coming. Everyday they asked when the lights would be up, or when they could play the games. Surprisingly- they weren't as excited about the test dividers haha. Their faces after walking in from winter break once the room was completely set up was priceless. \r\n\r\nThe LED light strips and covers have transformed our classroom into a more inviting and engaging space. The soft, adjustable lighting creates a calming atmosphere that helps students focus and feel more comfortable throughout the day. I have a full room during study hall now, as my classroom has become \"the place to be.\" \r\nThe board games have been a wonderful addition to our classroom as well. They provide an alternative to using phones during down time that requires interpersonal interactions that build social connections in a fun and interactive way. We've already enjoyed \"Operation\" after returning from a week of snow days. I believe they called it \"retro,\" which is slightly insulting for my generation to hear, but I will take it, since they didn't ask to check their phones at all during the 50 minute block. :) \r\nThe test dividers have also been incredibly helpful to not only me, but my colleagues who share the room with me. They create a sense of privacy and minimize distractions during assessments, allowing students to concentrate and perform their best. There is a positive shift in regards to their mental health surrounding assessment days since removing this subconscious form of comparison. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly enhanced my students' learning experience.
