While I haven't finished all of them yet, what I've read so far has been energizing and has sparked new ideas for engaging my students in meaningful writing.\r\nI am definitely a \"book person\" who reads with pen in hand; I highlight, jot notes in the margins, and flag pages I want to return to later. Many evenings, I read in my favorite chair with a notebook nearby so I can immediately capture lesson ideas that come to mind. These texts have reminded me of the joy of being both a learner and a teacher, and my students are reaping the benefits.\r\nAlready this year, my students have completed both a personal essay and a research essay, moving through the full writing process of brainstorming, drafting, revising, and polishing. In addition, I've been able to weave in short, focused mini-lessons to help them build confidence in their skills. One highlight has been our research presentation project, where students shared their findings with a real-world audience. The pride they felt in presenting their hard work was incredible, and many commented on how much they had grown as writers and thinkers.\r\nThe strategies and inspiration I've gained from these books are helping me nurture student voice, build writing stamina, and foster authentic engagement with the writing process. Your support has truly helped me reinvigorate my teaching and, in turn, inspire my students to see themselves as writers with something valuable to say.","fullyFundedDate":1744290628290,"projectUrl":"project/lifelong-learning-inspiring-teachers-to/9220405/","projectTitle":"Lifelong Learning: Inspiring Teachers to Inspire Writers","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Coffman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5544813"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_74009","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":447,"numTeachers":31,"percentFrplEligible":23,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":18,"percentWhite":53,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"14.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":null,"schoolId":74009,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Madison Academic High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Madison Academic High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/tennessee/jackson-madison-co-sch-dist/madison-academic-magnet-high-school/74009"}
