One specific classroom project involved setting up a mindfulness and creative play station. Students could take a break to use sensory tools, draw, or work collaboratively on puzzles. This helped them manage their feelings and return to academic tasks more focused and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their faces lit up with excitement. They immediately gravitated toward the sensory items and expressive art supplies, exploring everything with curiosity and joy. It was clear that these resources made them feel both supported and inspired.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, our classroom is now a space where students can grow emotionally and creatively. The next steps for our students include incorporating these tools into daily learning routines, as well as creating a group project where they design their own \"calm corner\" toolkit for the classroom. This will continue to nurture their ability to self-regulate while keeping learning engaging and fun.","fullyFundedDate":1745872605776,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-students-with-sensory-tools-f/9141757/","projectTitle":"Empowering Students with Sensory Tools for Emotional Regulation","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gonzalez-Martinez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4460662_orig.png?crop=398,398,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1718736275450","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/martinez4th"},{"teacherId":3122469,"projectId":9664684,"letterContent":"My students and I are so grateful for the new headphones and wobble stools you helped provide! We use the headphones daily during independent work time, and they've made such a difference. Students can now focus on their learning programs like IXL, Zearn, and Epic! without distractions, and the durable cords mean they spend more time learning and less time untangling knots or fixing broken pieces. The wobble stools have also been a huge hit — they let our paraprofessionals sit right next to students during small-group instruction and give students a flexible spot to take a quick movement break or work comfortably at our charging station.\r\n\r\nWhen the new materials first arrived, the excitement was contagious! Students couldn't believe they would get to use so many wobble stools. They quickly became a favorite spot in the room, and students love the chance to \"wobble and work.\" Students have raved about the headphones too. My students especially appreciate that they actually work (unlike their old ones!)\r\n\r\nWith these new tools, our next step is helping students continue to build independence and stamina during their reading and math rotations. The headphones and flexible seating have made it easier for everyone to stay on task and work at their own pace, and that's helping us make real progress toward our learning goals. Thank you for investing in our classroom — your generosity has truly made a lasting impact on my 24 amazing second graders!","fullyFundedDate":1757534865080,"projectUrl":"project/wobbles-and-wires-that-last-classroom-t/9664684/","projectTitle":"Wobbles and Wires That Last: Classroom Tools for Focus","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sylvester Sandoval","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3122469_orig.jpg?crop=320,320,x0,y19&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756752325409","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mssylvester23"},{"teacherId":10100601,"projectId":9677593,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation, our classroom now has a full set of headphones for students to use during lessons! These headphones have truly transformed the way my students engage with technology and their learning. Before, students often had to engage with their technology on speaker, which made it difficult to focus on individualized tasks. Now, each student can participate in reading programs, language activities, and online assessments without distraction. The headphones have created a calmer, more focused learning environment where every student can learn at their own pace.\r\n\r\nMy students are most excited about using the headphones during reading and math centers. They love listening to audiobooks and interactive lessons, and many of them enjoy having their own workspace without outside noise distraction and being able to work independently on their devices. It has been wonderful to see how motivated and confident they have become when using these tools.\r\n\r\nSome of my English learners, in particular, have shown incredible growth. Being able to clearly hear phonics sounds and at times use text to speech has made a huge difference in their progress and confidence. These headphones have opened up opportunities for them to practice listening and pronunciation in a way that feels engaging and fun. Your support has made this possible, and I am so grateful for the positive impact it's having on my students every day.","fullyFundedDate":1757555944381,"projectUrl":"project/listening-to-learn/9677593/","projectTitle":"Listening to Learn","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10100601_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753857950304","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10100601"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_31642","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":591,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":85,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":85,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"20.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.7,"schoolId":31642,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about M Robert Adkison Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"M Robert Adkison Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/ceres-unified-school-district/m-robert-adkison-elementary-school/31642"}
