Since receiving the materials, our classroom has been buzzing with curiosity and creativity. Students have been using the STEM kits during our hands-on science centers, where they work together to build structures, test simple machines, and solve small engineering challenges. One of our favorite moments was when a group of students worked together to design a bridge that could hold as many counting cubes as possible. They tested, adjusted, and rebuilt multiple times, cheering every time they improved their design. It was such a joy to watch them naturally use teamwork language like \"Let's try another way\" and \"Don't give up, we almost got it!\"\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was instant. Students were literally hopping out of their seats to explore what we were unpacking. The bright colors, moving parts, and the chance to build something real made them feel like true engineers. Many said, \"This is the best day ever!\" and \"Can we do this every day?\"\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our students are developing problem-solving skills, confidence, and a love for learning through play and discovery. Our next step is starting a class STEM challenge journal, where students will draw or write about their designs, what worked, and what they changed. This will help them reflect like real scientists and engineers!\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for your support. You didn't just provide materials, you provided experiences, excitement, and opportunities that will stay with them all year long.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our learners!","fullyFundedDate":1754417448071,"projectUrl":"project/turning-play-into-possibilitysupport-ou/9426395/","projectTitle":"Turning Play Into Possibility—Support Our STEM Journey","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rizzo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9134036_orig.png?crop=1316,1316,x0,y4&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750516270845","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9134036"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46897","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":450,"numTeachers":45,"percentFrplEligible":92,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":12,"percentWhite":58,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"10.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":94.1,"schoolId":46897,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lynch Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lynch Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/pinellas-county-schools/lynch-elementary-school/46897"}
