Using dry erase boards allows them to share ideas, revise their thinking, and use a combination of drawings and words model various concepts. \r\n\r\nThe tablet charging station provides easy access for students to use our class set of tablets. They did a performance to the song \"One Short Day\" from Wicked so the scene was GREEN! The students really loved having the green decorations and props for that particular routine! We will reuse some of the items from this donor's choose project and put on a full performance with costume changes to bring their student-created dance performances for their families. It was hard work because many students were reading several years below grade level, but I was not always able to pinpoint where the gaps were in their reading. There was no fine-tuned progress monitoring tool for me to use.\r\n\r\nLast year, as part of my training as a Reading Intervention Special Education Teacher, I received training with a progress monitoring system called Acadience which was being used in elementary schools, but had not branched into middle schools yet. Thankfully, this changed! As a middle school teacher, I am now able to use Acadience to closely monitor the progress my reading students are making. With fined-tuned monitoring, I am able to see specific gaps and address them.\r\n\r\nThe iPad you generously donated to is the tech tool I use to closely notate progress and to show students and family growth through charts generated by Acadience.
