In my first-grade classroom, several students struggle with noise sensitivity, and everyday sounds—chairs moving, classmates talking, hallway transitions—can quickly overwhelm them. This not only affects their ability to focus and learn, but it can also lead to anxiety, frustration, or challenging behaviors. The ear covers you helped provide have made a remarkable difference. They gently reduce background noise without isolating students, and this simple tool has created a calmer, more accessible learning environment for children who truly need it.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most about the new ear covers is the sense of comfort and control they bring. Students who once shut down or avoided activities are now confidently participating during lessons, group work, and independent practice. One particular student, who used to cover his ears and withdraw whenever the classroom became noisy, now keeps his ear covers nearby and uses them whenever he needs support. With this tool, he stays engaged longer, transitions more smoothly, and shows fewer signs of overwhelm. His confidence and emotional regulation have improved in ways that are noticeable to everyone who works with him.\r\n\r\nThank you for providing such an important resource. Your generosity has gone far beyond reducing noise—it has given several of my most sensitive learners the chance to feel safe, included, and ready to learn every day. When I learned that our project had been funded, it honestly felt like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. As teachers, we always want to give our students the best learning environment possible, but resources can sometimes be limited and dreams for certain activities can feel out of reach. Your donation changed that for us. It brought an immediate sense of hope, excitement, and possibility into our classroom. The day the materials arrived, my students could hardly contain their smiles. They gathered around with so much curiosity, eager to see what new things they would have the chance to use. That moment alone filled our room with a feeling of joy that has carried into our everyday routines.\r\n\r\nNow that the students have been using the new supplies for a little while, I can confidently tell you that they have truly transformed our classroom. The materials have not only supported our lessons, but they have also helped students engage in ways that I was not able to offer before. Some of my more hesitant learners have become more willing to participate because the tools give them a sense of confidence and ownership. Students who once grew frustrated easily are now staying focused longer and feeling proud of the work they are producing. The new supplies have also encouraged more collaboration and creativity. I often find students gathered together, sharing ideas, exploring the materials, and helping one another in ways that feel natural and joyful. It has been incredible to watch how something as simple as high quality tools can inspire such big changes in behavior, motivation, and confidence. Our classroom feels more organized, more inviting, and more alive with curiosity because of what you made possible.\r\n\r\nI also want you to know how much your kindness means to me personally as a teacher. It is very easy in education to feel stretched, overwhelmed, or unsure if you are doing enough. When my friends, family, and even strangers take the time to support a classroom they have never visited and students they have never met, it reminds me that there are people who truly value what teachers do and who genuinely care about children and their opportunities. They are learning more, trying harder, and feeling more confident because you chose to care about us.","fullyFundedDate":1754346700742,"projectUrl":"project/little-learners-big-organization/9446504/","projectTitle":"Little Learners, Big Organization!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bethell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1429817_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753273970741","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1429817"},{"teacherId":2155148,"projectId":9019154,"letterContent":"I hope this letter finds you in great spirits. My students are young and all have Autism. They have short attention spans and low work stamina. We took one small group out for about 30 minutes a day to work on the sanding. They did not enjoy sanding as much as they did the painting part, but we learned that perseverance is important. Sometimes, we have to do hard, boring things before we can do the fun, easier things. \r\nMy self-contained program is included as much as possible in school life, but sometimes the kids still have the stigma of being the \"others\". When families, students, and staff saw us working on this project, my kids felt very included. People acknowledged them, told them they were doing a good job, and expressed their appreciation. They didn't care if my students were non-speaking or had \"odd\" stimming behavior sometimes. \r\nMy kids are still young and far from getting jobs, but we often talk about the jobs they might have when they grow up. This project gave them some hands-on experience with real-life skills.\r\nOne of the best things that came out of our project is that our school was inspired to organize a community campus clean-up day. This hasn't happened yet because it's too early to plant. Still, people from the community, including school family members and other community members, are motivated to attend a campus clean-up day. So far, several people have already donated soil, plants, and their time. \r\nThis has been an excellent project for my students, one that benefits not only them but also our school and community.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your kind support.\r\n\r\nTrish Dreskin-Evans, teacher and\r\nKacy Cash, principal","fullyFundedDate":1737843350520,"projectUrl":"project/life-skills-gardening-and-campus-beaut/9073413/","projectTitle":"Life Skills, Gardening, and Campus Beautification","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Trish","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9686655"},{"teacherId":1429817,"projectId":8620027,"letterContent":"Here's a thank-you message you can use:\r\n\r\nDear donors, thank you so much for the generous toy donations to my classroom.
