Each week, students were excited to choose new books to take home and share with their families. They looked forward to this opportunity and were so proud to bring their books home to read.\r\n\r\nBecause students had access to books and consistent reading support both at school and at home, they were able to practice their skills more frequently and with greater confidence. That continuity made a meaningful difference. The skills we introduced and practiced at school could be reinforced at home, giving students additional opportunities to apply what they were learning.\r\n\r\nAs the weeks went by, we saw students make significant gains in their reading skills. They became more confident sounding out words, recognizing familiar words, reading with greater fluency, and understanding what they were reading.\r\n\r\nBut perhaps the most beautiful growth we witnessed was their confidence.\r\n\r\nStudents who once hesitated to read began proudly sharing their accomplishments. They returned to school excited to tell us about the books they had read at home. They began to see themselves as readers, and their pride in their progress was evident.\r\n\r\nYour donation helped create a bridge between school and home. What began as a vision for a beautiful garden filled with native plants and pollinator friendly flowers grew into something so much bigger. Our garden became a place of learning, discovery, connection, and joy for our entire school community.\r\n\r\nIn addition to our native plants, we were able to grow a wonderful variety of vegetables and herbs. When it was time to harvest, our students had the exciting experience of picking food they had watched grow from tiny seeds. Even more special, they were able to share their harvest with the entire school. Students and staff had the opportunity to taste and enjoy vegetables and herbs grown right here on our campus.\r\n\r\nSome of our students became true garden leaders. They proudly shared what they had learned, explaining what the vegetables were, how they grew, and what plants needed to thrive. Watching children become confident enough to teach others was one of the most rewarding parts of this experience.\r\n\r\nThe garden also brought families together over the summer. While school was out, families volunteered their time to care for the garden, working together to water, weed, harvest, and nurture the plants. Knowing that our garden continued to be loved and cared for even when our school doors were closed was incredibly special.\r\n\r\nYour support has given our students something that reaches far beyond a garden.
