The accessories including acrylic letters, shapes and numbers. My students favorite features are the color changing lights on the table. They also like the patterns you put on top of the table and you lay the shapes on top in the correct spots. This table has served a variety of purposes. It has been used in choice time. It also has been use for math and reading. Word work is one of the independent activities my students do when I am pulling small reading groups. The materials this project provided are at a variety of levels just like my class. The s'mores cvc game have been perfect for my students learning to spell cvc words. It is hands on and engaging. The word ladders have also been a big hit and match up to the phonics skills we are learning in UFLI. The biggest hit hands down is the phonics dominos. My students love them so much! It was so amazing to see the love of writing sparked in such young children. They are perfect to use during independent time because they are self checking. During our literacy block of time, they enjoy building our irregular words and words that focus on the concept we are currently learning. We just finished our math unit with teen numbers and the kids enjoyed using the new counters and ten frames to match the number they pulled out. During our choice time, the light table gets switched to a building center and they have really enjoyed building different creations with the translucent blocks. \r\n\r\nEvery since we have received these manipulatives, our light table has come alive. There are always students working or building on it daily. There are always multiple students at the light table so not only are they building their academic skills, but they are building language and vocabulary as they are working alongside their peers. \r\n\r\nThank you for your generous donation!
