Your support has brought so much excitement and joy into our classroom. This novel is not only engaging but rich with themes like resilience, empathy, environmental awareness, and the importance of community. My students are learning to analyze character development, explore cause and effect, and make meaningful connections between the story and their own lives—all while being captivated by Roz the robot's adventures.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is an interactive and collaborative experience. We read aloud together, pause to discuss key moments, and work in small groups to dive deeper into vocabulary, comprehension questions, and thematic discussions. The students are also keeping reading journals where they can reflect on the story and practice their writing skills. Having a class set of the same book allows every student to feel equally involved and ensures no one is left out during shared reading.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who typically shy away from reading have been completely drawn in by The Wild Robot. One student told me, \"This is the first book I've ever wanted to read more of at home.\" Another has been sketching scenes from each chapter in her journal, excitedly sharing them with classmates. Your gift has helped create not just stronger readers, but more enthusiastic ones too.
