They are always so excited and look forward to snack time throughout the school day. Having a variety of options for them to choose from has been an excellent opportunity to teach them decision-making skills as they pick what they'd like to eat.\r\n\r\nWhen we first received all the boxes filled with different snack items, the students were jumping up and down with excitement, eager to open them. We turned it into a fun activity, and each student helped me open the packages and share with their classmates what we received. It felt like Christmas all over again—thank you so much!\r\n\r\nWe are also working hard on helping our students communicate, whether by pointing or signing. The next step will be encouraging them to use basic signs when asking for more snacks or choosing what they'd like to eat. For example, the sensory materials are being used during calm-down time to help students self-regulate, while the new fine motor tools are integrated into art and pre-writing activities. The interactive books and toys have been great for circle time, encouraging engagement and participation. They're also being used in small group instruction to support individualized learning goals, such as improving communication and social skills.\r\n\r\nThe students were so excited when they first saw the new materials! Their faces lit up with curiosity and joy, and many were eager to explore right away. Some students gravitated toward the sensory items, finding them calming and engaging, while others were drawn to the colorful books and interactive toys. It was wonderful to see how the resources immediately sparked their interest and encouraged participation in classroom activities.
